You can walk right past the monster when the light is on he will not hurt you unless its dark. I have literally bumped in to him when the light was on and nothing happened.
Couple tips:
1. If you have spare money open 5 coin rooms they will almost always have 5+ coins so make more than return on investment.
2. in the main room before you drop down listen to the sound the "portals" make when you are close to the exit you will hear this sound and you can track the direction of the sound to find it instead of wasting coins on the horn. Use horn if having trouble just to get an idea.
3. If solo bandages are useless however you could drop them to mark where you have been.
4. Always stop on yellow in the traffic light part. The deduction of tickets is based on time moved during a red light.
5. Where you drop is entirely random in maze as I have literally been dropped in the maze with the exit door in front of me staring at it.
6. Also with traffic light you can run sideways try to keep one in sight at all times even if its far off.
7. When you are stopped you can look around with no penalty as long as you don't move from that spot. Try to look for dead ends (since that is likely either the start or finish) or even the hole in the ground for the exit while standing still.
