Level 3 locked?

I wanted to try the new level 3 after beating the game and being sent back to the hub. Door 3 was locked so I saw online you have to go to level 2 then you'll go through to level 3. (That's not true, you jump straight to level 4). How do you unlock level 3?

go into level one and beat it and then beat lvl 2 and you should get teleported to level 3
