Personally, I am very happy with the direction they are going.
Honestly, when they said they were making this, I was thinking that the best they will do is expand the map. Meaning just a bigger map with a continuation to Manibus scenario storyline.
With the way they are doing it now, with a new map and new storyline, this means eventually a scenario is effectively a new game altogether with new mechanics of its own.
With that mid-season transfer system they are doing, it also effectively means we can choose a "game" that we want to play and play it at our own time and convenience.
Eg. If I wanna play PVE and I wanna play Manibus, I can pick a Manibus scenario. If I want to play PVP next, I can just play one of the PVP scenarios. Then, after that, if I want to play PVE again, I can play a PVE scenario of my choice.
This effectively means we will have tons of "games" in one game. Very ambitious to be honest but I am happy with that.
Of course, how many scenarios and how fast they can make the next scenario (after Way of Winter) is to be seen but with this direction, they have already exceeded my expectations.
They are not going for the "DLC" / "add-on" approach but rather a "new game" approach which is rare particularly for a free-to-play.
Thanks for the second link! I didn't realize the CH servers already got the Way Of Winter scenario. EDIT: Looks like this guy is on a test server. Surprised they didn't make him sign an NDA! lol) Answers some of my concerns anyway.
It's an ambitious approach for sure, I just have very little faith in the devs at this point in time due to the lack of communication/fixes relating to existing bugs/lag and the state of the current Prismverse PvP scenario which was a complete disaster by most accounts. It looks promising, I just hope they can get on top of the performance issues and keep up with the 4 new scenarios per year.
I moved on a month ago. This game is technically dead.
Zero evidence they are using bots. Steam only represents a percentage of the number of players. The game has its own independent launcher and it's also available on the Epic store. 30k players was likely off peak plus players are waiting for the new PvE content. Players have also stopped playing the Prismverse Clash as it's laggy and unbalanced. No Jesters for you son, nice try though.
I think they used the wrong word. Not bots, but Alt accounts. I know on my server, it really is near half of the people being Alt accounts so their main will have double the ability to farm, process, or whatever.
The 24 hour one is in case you made a mistake and joined the wrong (or a too difficult) scenario. 60 days is almost 2 Way of Winters, (35 days each before settlement) so use your ONE 60 day transfer wisely.
That's all I care about.
That wouldn't artificially inflate online player count, cos they'd be either playing one or the other, not both at the same time.
At this point I'm inclined to agree and judging by the comments during the live the majority of the player base does too.
"We expect there will be relief coming with the Way of Winter update on October 17th. We will continue to work beyond that though, and further improvements can be expected throughout all of October". This statement upon review is a little bit wishy washy. "We expect" and "improvements CAN be expected". It doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. The statement was also preceded by the lady asking specifically about the lag in Prismverse Clash too. Time will tell I suppose....
Exactly. I think Raisins is just jester farming tbh. They posted the exact same comment in another thread.
Yeah I noticed that. I suppose it makes sense as it will prevent players rushing content to farm frags and server hopping.
Hopefully the debuffs you get aren't too punishing and can be cured quickly. I honestly think they should tone down all the debuff mechanics. I don't find it fun in a game like this that leans more into looter shooter territory. It just becomes a chore IMHO. I believe some of the frost/heat recipes give immunity for 1 hour so that is much better than drinking/eating every 5 mins to top up buffs.
