1.3 Update Dev Stream
So I just watched the dev stream for the upcoming 1.3 version of the game with the Way Of Winter scenario. I have to say I'm a little bit concerned. My understanding is as follows (Disclaimer: I could have missed something or got it wrong, the lady with the slightly broken English is a bit hard to understand sometimes)

They stated there's one new SILO - One? So we only have access to one? Then later in the video it mentions Securement Silo Delta AND Taurus AND the new Black Sector Dungeon? So is this 2 new Silos and a new dungeon?

2 New Bosses - Assume these are the "titans", I think they're called Chaos Reapers. One has tentacles eerily similar to Manibus. Hope it's not just the same boss re-skinned with same mechanics. Also the "Secret Servitor". Is this the end boss of the new Silo or a separate Monolith type Boss? Maybe Black sector dungeon?

7 New Deviations - OK Hopefully they increase the inventory size for carrying Deviations especially if they bring in the upgrade system. I assume all the other deviations aren't going to be present in this scenario unless you spend points to bring them with you? Could be wrong.

10+ (probably 11) New Deviants (Mobs) - Looking at the gameplay clips do the zombie mobs now in winter gear count towards "new" (i.e reskin of existing mobs) They mentioned a "style overhaul" for Vulture faction too. Is this in addition to the 10+ new deviants?

The Map. Glad that it's just the Northern area of Nalcott. Seems like they put a fair bit of effort into crafting the world instead of a cut and paste job with snow reskin.

The LAG. Good to finally hear an apology and that they located the issue and are "working hard" on it. The "relief" we are to expect with the W.O.W update? Is this a temporary measure? They state to be continuing to improve during the rest of October, so they know what's causing it but haven't had time to fully fix it. That will be by the end of October all going well?

The "Temperature mechanic". Soooo now we will get debuffs from Sanity/Stamina/Thirst/Hunger/Too cold/Too hot. Hopefully they tone down the thirst and hunger back to the Novice level as I can see this is going to get old FAST constantly having to drink/eat. Yes you can upgrade gear with animal skins so there is that at least. I assume the holding a torch/molotov is for very early game before you get established. The "you may even fall sick" has me concerned too. Sanity/Stamina/Thirst/Hunger/Cold/Hot/Sickness...that's a LOT of debuffs to manage. Hope it's not going like DayZ new DLC where you spend more time sat beside a fire and cooking/eating than actually exploring/doing more interesting activities.

"Spectacle Collaboration". Is this team/hive based content only? Who controls the thermal tower and its unlocks? Only leader? Who can start the "purification" process. It looks like it functions similar to purification events with Cortex Resonator where you have to defend it from waves of mobs/elites. Is this forced co-op or can we do it solo? In the later phase the "Chaos Reapers" will spawn in the world and you have to defend the thermal tower. Is this a random event? Can it happen when offline?

These are just some of my initial impressions and concerns regarding the info released. Thanks for reading and apologies for the wall of text. Any thoughts/concerns? I'm looking forward to giving it a go but there's a whole lot of new mechanics that makes me worry the servers are going to poop themselves. :steammocking:

Personally, I am very happy with the direction they are going.

Honestly, when they said they were making this, I was thinking that the best they will do is expand the map. Meaning just a bigger map with a continuation to Manibus scenario storyline.

With the way they are doing it now, with a new map and new storyline, this means eventually a scenario is effectively a new game altogether with new mechanics of its own.

With that mid-season transfer system they are doing, it also effectively means we can choose a "game" that we want to play and play it at our own time and convenience.

Eg. If I wanna play PVE and I wanna play Manibus, I can pick a Manibus scenario. If I want to play PVP next, I can just play one of the PVP scenarios. Then, after that, if I want to play PVE again, I can play a PVE scenario of my choice.

This effectively means we will have tons of "games" in one game. Very ambitious to be honest but I am happy with that.

Of course, how many scenarios and how fast they can make the next scenario (after Way of Winter) is to be seen but with this direction, they have already exceeded my expectations.

They are not going for the "DLC" / "add-on" approach but rather a "new game" approach which is rare particularly for a free-to-play.

Thanks for the second link! I didn't realize the CH servers already got the Way Of Winter scenario. EDIT: Looks like this guy is on a test server. Surprised they didn't make him sign an NDA! lol) Answers some of my concerns anyway.

It's an ambitious approach for sure, I just have very little faith in the devs at this point in time due to the lack of communication/fixes relating to existing bugs/lag and the state of the current Prismverse PvP scenario which was a complete disaster by most accounts. It looks promising, I just hope they can get on top of the performance issues and keep up with the 4 new scenarios per year.

Considering this game's population is down to 30% of its original one. And out of that 30%, half are bots, there's really only 15k people truly playing this game at prime time.
I moved on a month ago. This game is technically dead. :Doomsday:

Zero evidence they are using bots. Steam only represents a percentage of the number of players. The game has its own independent launcher and it's also available on the Epic store. 30k players was likely off peak plus players are waiting for the new PvE content. Players have also stopped playing the Prismverse Clash as it's laggy and unbalanced. No Jesters for you son, nice try though.

I think they used the wrong word. Not bots, but Alt accounts. I know on my server, it really is near half of the people being Alt accounts so their main will have double the ability to farm, process, or whatever.

I know that one of the healing mixtures on the top level workbench is to fight the common cold or something like that.....

The transfer is free in the 1st 24 hours and costs one Mitsuko Mark after that, but is only usable once every 60 days. You aren't going to be scenario jumping every two weeks to alleviate boredom.

The 24 hour one is in case you made a mistake and joined the wrong (or a too difficult) scenario. 60 days is almost 2 Way of Winters, (35 days each before settlement) so use your ONE 60 day transfer wisely.

"The LAG. Good to finally hear an apology and that they located the issue and are "working hard" on it."

That's all I care about.

That wouldn't artificially inflate online player count, cos they'd be either playing one or the other, not both at the same time.

At this point I'm inclined to agree and judging by the comments during the live the majority of the player base does too.

"We expect there will be relief coming with the Way of Winter update on October 17th. We will continue to work beyond that though, and further improvements can be expected throughout all of October". This statement upon review is a little bit wishy washy. "We expect" and "improvements CAN be expected". It doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. The statement was also preceded by the lady asking specifically about the lag in Prismverse Clash too. Time will tell I suppose....

Exactly. I think Raisins is just jester farming tbh. They posted the exact same comment in another thread.

Yeah I noticed that. I suppose it makes sense as it will prevent players rushing content to farm frags and server hopping.

Hopefully the debuffs you get aren't too punishing and can be cured quickly. I honestly think they should tone down all the debuff mechanics. I don't find it fun in a game like this that leans more into looter shooter territory. It just becomes a chore IMHO. I believe some of the frost/heat recipes give immunity for 1 hour so that is much better than drinking/eating every 5 mins to top up buffs.
