The devs clearly didn't want people to have multiple accounts. They wanted people to form Hives and Warbands, and grow the community. If they wanted you to have multiple characters on the same account then it would be an easily accessible choice on the main menu.
Who knows if you're going to get banned. Its probably not a high priority, so if you stay under the radar you'll probably be ok.
"At launch, players were only allowed to create one character in Once Human. The game doesn't allow characters to be deleted, so players were upset to find themselves committed to only one character and asked for the option to be able to create multiple characters to use across different servers....
The developer has since responded to this player feedback by opening up the functionality for multiple-character creation. The announcement also includes an apology for the initial decision to limit character creation at launch, saying it unfortunately led to a "poor gaming experience.""

All in all, the conclusion is, original intention was 1 character only and for good, later they decided players can go up to 10 but they say "across servers" so I guess their intention is closer to what @Narezza says.
Yet it's far too easy having multiple characters on the same server and many think this was intentional...
The Studio didn't answer my mail (yet?), so better safe than sorry, I stay with a single character per realm (Server), until they clearly state it is legit having more than one.
Cheers y'all!
If you wanna talk about 'taking server slots'. then we should talk first about all that inactive players on an season server, they don't use any server slot? loooooool
You have no clue, 3 of my characters were created originated as bug testing on differnet servers and different conditions (begeinner, normal, hard server) in different times.
So, surelay I need to mitigate all together lol.
Anytime this happens automatically by joining new season. So you CAN have different characters with the same account on the same server lol.
And before you wanna talk about an game, you should check others for their playtime in that game, then with 213 hours you are an absolute beginner lol.
3 now!? 15 to 10 to 4 and now 3 worlds, we will have 1 single world soon.
Main base where all my toons go and store ALL resources. And for purification's.
Other two bases are tiny bases for only farming oil and acid + farm,
What I recommend NOT doing. Building one giant base. We have some people with 4-5 accounts and blocking spawns at salt flats. Like 3 people with giant bases. Also, too much will lag others.
As long as you take other people into consideration and not interfere, then no one will really know nor care.
Why 3 characters? Mostly memetics. Plus, allows me to try and do different builds on each toon.
the 'inactive slots' are place holders used by people with alts,. they stake a claim with it on a server, then go about pulling all their characters to the same server, since they have that space held by their alt...i,e, campsite, just the building terminal, or a single foundation with the terminal, it effectively saves that space for them whenever they are ready., usually this is done in large ore areas or areas that can be farmed heavily.
THIS is the core of the issue with players having alts, they effectively lock down areas OTHER players could be living at or farming until the last 2 phases then those areas are magically full of players, usually all in the same hive with houses linked. we actually had a guy on one of my past servers who started a hive that was SOLELY his alts and he would run them simultaneously and brag about it,
they also take spots in the game from new players. i have literally been on a new server that ran out of space in less than 3 days because of alts, LITERALLY in less than 3 days, that's what the devs are getting pissed about, no new players=no new money into the game=nothing new coming to the game as in content
The above is completely incorrect as the devs have never banned players for having multiple characters in the same scenario.
it is not against the rules to have multiple characters on the same account in the same scenario. I have been doing this for the last 4 seasons with no issues, others have been doing this since season two since we have been able to bring all our characters to the same scenario after the first season.
The devs have come out and already stated there is no issue with alts.
Shame because this game could be huge if had a little depth...
Also, I still didn't get an official answer from the studio so... pfff...
But, thanks for the update again!
