Game Difficulty
I just want to point out and say for those that constantly are saying "game is too easy" - go find another game more challenging and up your alley.

I work 10 hour days and then come home with 2 kids of my own. This game was PERFECT in terms of difficulty. I'd rather not come home after stressing for 10 hours and stress some more because of a game. I actually like to relax and enjoy the games I play. I'm not home all day like some of you are. You guys have the time to get the best gear, best weapons, all that.

Then there's people like us that actually work and are away from home 8+ hours a day, 5 days a week. I sweat enough at work, I don't want to be sweating while playing a game I enjoy.

Everyone has their own personal preference in regards to difficulty in games. There's more difficult ones out there, play them. I enjoyed this demo and can't wait for the full release.

You cannot read, I said I hate PVP but was using it as an example of how stupid the devs are being.

Also this game isn't fine as is, I love how you ignore the massive amount of people who say otherwise because you want to bootlick, make sure you shine their shoes well doggie

No most people aren't their own discord is proof of that with many votes to change it, Deny reality all you want man I think its sad and if we are using your logic then the devs never should have changed the game to appease people who cannot play games to save their lives and require super mega ultimate easy mode.

This is what clueless people like you fail to understand the game wasn't like this originally it was changed because of people like you who whined and whined.

The server wipe thing was also never their from the start they forced it in mid way

The problem here I believe is twofold, The game was and still is marketed as a post apocalyptic survival game. When it first launched it was a lot harder and there was actual survival elements. Hardcore gamers were drawn to this based on how it was marketed and first play tested. It has been made so much easier since and a lot of the survival mechanics removed or reduced. This appeals to the casual players and not the hardcore ones. Blaming them for being upset that the game is now more suited to casual players isn't really fair.

On the second side of it this game is intended by design to be long term playable MMO live service game. By putting wipes in they will put the casual player base off. By making the game easy they will put the hardcore gamers off. The general consensus behind the wipes is the end game will not have enough variance to keep people interested long term, so they wipe progress to give people something to do and throw a bit of extra flavour in each season. They have catch up mechanics in game and are trying to appease both sides and as such are failing at both. The casual gamers will play a bit and then put the game down, probably the return rate in season 2 for casual players will be small. The hardcore gamers who would be so much more likely to return in season 2 will have burnt out playing too much easy content in season 1.

Trying to look at it objectively as possible, it seems to me that it is in the developers best interest to cater this game more to the hardcore long term players than the people who want a casual easy experience.

Pretty much they are trying to cater to everyone and that will cause this game to fail immensely, same with PVP. The PVE players didn't want PVP active all the time in a PVP server, despite there being PVP and PVE servers. You think PVP players are going to stick around with this system, no they are gone.

So thats already one group out

Like why would you listen to PVE players when it comes to PVP? I hate PVP and even I think its utterly stupid you need to flag yourself for PVP unless you are in a specific zone or taking part in a guild war. You may as well just remove the forced PVP zones, and merge PVP wars into PVE and keep the flag system to reduce server cost.

They dumbed this game down to appease casuals who will not stick with them, the casuals themselves have said if the wipe system remains they ain't sticking around and for every player you have who says they will there is like six who are out.

The hardcore gamers hate the wipes and the Diff, there is no fun for them at all in this game its a complete joke in terms of challenge.

They have ensured this games death already.

Their only hope at this point is to get non wipe servers up and get the season content in there, because this game will be a ghost town by season three.

The devs have the audacity to false market this game, they are not putting the wipe details on the store front, they are ALREADY lying their asses off imo, so that pretty much tells me this game is doomed.

When devs aren't upfront and purposefully try to hide information, yeah they are trying their best to keep the wipe thing quiet

Probably most honest post ive seen for this game. It's one of those weirdo games that try to cater to "everyone" yet caters to NO ONE in the end besides mobile users I think and I wouldn't even consider mobile gaming real games either...

Seems to me like there is a solution.

Make two type of servers with different rulesets.

One that caters to the casuals - easy mobs, no real mechanics regarding survival aspects etc.

And one that caters to the more…dedicated…players - one that follows many of the systems that were in place in CBT2 i.e.

Also, perhaps making the seasons last for 3 months instead, on these servers. Or substitute them with a completely different systems.

Did not die once playing the demo until I fell asleep and walked off a cliff!

If you want an easy game, go play animal crossing. When im in the middle of the end of the world, I would expect a challenge.

Thats coming from a 60+ hour week guy. So if youre not good at games, just say it.

doesn't matter if you work 10 hours a day or 16, you can come home to play Elden Ring and enjoy it.

The game is too easy and breaks immersion with how massive and intimidating the creatures are, but how weak they are to any damage

Then don't play games. No one cares how many kids you have, how long you work each day. People want a good challenging survival MMO to enjoy, not every game has to cater to a casual like you. Just go play candy crush or Stardew valley or Sims 4 if you can't cope with difficulty in game.
