Game Difficulty
I just want to point out and say for those that constantly are saying "game is too easy" - go find another game more challenging and up your alley.

I work 10 hour days and then come home with 2 kids of my own. This game was PERFECT in terms of difficulty. I'd rather not come home after stressing for 10 hours and stress some more because of a game. I actually like to relax and enjoy the games I play. I'm not home all day like some of you are. You guys have the time to get the best gear, best weapons, all that.

Then there's people like us that actually work and are away from home 8+ hours a day, 5 days a week. I sweat enough at work, I don't want to be sweating while playing a game I enjoy.

Everyone has their own personal preference in regards to difficulty in games. There's more difficult ones out there, play them. I enjoyed this demo and can't wait for the full release.

Um then why play a survival apoc themed game...the entire point of games like this is for it to be like that,

this is like me going into a racing game and going and complaining I am being forced to race against other people, thats the entire point

Or maybe you could…you know, go and be with your kids. Or play Stardew Valley.

This game was marketed as a hardcore survival horror themed game.

This? This is something taken from a pokemon-lovers wet dream.

Why play this game easy mode? I kill first 3 boss and then i have my dude lvl 15, and go lvl 30-50 place, not anymore easy, you have sneak and you fear all time when you die, everything can kill you in 1 hit. I love this game.

LOL what? Totally different. In fact, I do play F1 24 and I have zero issues racing with others.

Don't get me wrong, going into higher level difficulty areas can be challenging and that's what I like. I've done that a couple times during the demo. That should be key. Definitely isn't easy when doing that, but the entire game from the beginning? nah. Let me jump in and relax a bit and go into the difficult areas when I feel like it.

Don't tell me how to live my life. I spend enough time with them, lol.

I'm simply saying that the game from start to finish shouldn't be nothing but difficult. Going into higher level areas pre-maturely can be difficult and I like that. It allows me to make the game challenging when I feel like it. It shouldn't be constantly difficult from start to finish.

The problem here I believe is twofold, The game was and still is marketed as a post apocalyptic survival game. When it first launched it was a lot harder and there was actual survival elements. Hardcore gamers were drawn to this based on how it was marketed and first play tested. It has been made so much easier since and a lot of the survival mechanics removed or reduced. This appeals to the casual players and not the hardcore ones. Blaming them for being upset that the game is now more suited to casual players isn't really fair.

On the second side of it this game is intended by design to be long term playable MMO live service game. By putting wipes in they will put the casual player base off. By making the game easy they will put the hardcore gamers off. The general consensus behind the wipes is the end game will not have enough variance to keep people interested long term, so they wipe progress to give people something to do and throw a bit of extra flavour in each season. They have catch up mechanics in game and are trying to appease both sides and as such are failing at both. The casual gamers will play a bit and then put the game down, probably the return rate in season 2 for casual players will be small. The hardcore gamers who would be so much more likely to return in season 2 will have burnt out playing too much easy content in season 1.

Trying to look at it objectively as possible, it seems to me that it is in the developers best interest to cater this game more to the hardcore long term players than the people who want a casual easy experience.

Then stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crying each time someone mentions that it is too easy a game, which it is.

Wait until OP finds out that the game servers get wiped every 6 weeks because it's a Season Based Model. :hintlord:

Why do people keep posting stuff like this all the time, they seem to think they are entitled to a more valid argument than anybody else just because they work. I am not going to tell you how old I am or what I do for a living, but I will say the internet didn't exist when I grew up, and I work 3 months on/off, I probably work similar hours to you in a year and there is a pretty good chance I earn more than you do. I chose not to have kids and if I want to play hardcore games or casual games for 20 hours a day for weeks on end that is my choice. Does that make my opinion any more relevant than yours, no. Does it make it any more relevant than a kid or someone who is unemployed, no. I so wish people would stop saying crap like I work for a living, go get yourself a life kid.
SilverCuppedRamen Jun 17, 2024 @ 4:34pm
Most people here haven't made it onto the same phase that you're going through in life so don't expect much understanding. I agree though. More casual games would be nice to have. :TrainFrog:
