The whole point of building bases in the main game is so other players can see them in the world, to have a presence there.
Teleporting means you don't have to move your base to each new area, it's your choice to do so. Some people want the fantasy of building a mobile base they move around, so design it for that purpose. If you want a permanent home then don't move it.
Your rant is almost entirely based on ignorance. You want this system to be something it's not and are ignoring all the ways that already exist that do those things better. Most importantly just use the damn teleport towers.
I built my base on a beach and I'm quite happy leaving it there. I never felt inconvenienced for it being on the edge of the map.
The fly mode really need a zoom in/out. but what you can do is look from the top of your base (while in fly mode) and use (Z) or (C). It somewhat work as a zoom in/out when your looking from the top view of your base. And not when you are looking at it sideway. It will just pan the camera up down instead, now you will have to play around quite a bit with this (Z) (C) and orientation of your view while pressing those key. But as Helstar said, small tower style base will be easier to relocate.
I know the why obviously.
I just don't like it and that's my personal preference and opinion I'm entitle to.
In my humble opinon seeing multiple bases lumped together that has zero synergy between them in the most awkward positions, due to envrionment, defeats the whole point of showing off something nice when it all looks ugly and cluttered together. In my opinion.
Its my opinion, they should be instances so you don't see the ugly clutter in the world.
I know they do it as it entices others to see what they might not have and eventually it ties into cosmetic you can buy in the cash shop, etc.. etc... Hence it won't change.
I don't want the system to be anything, I just don't think its a great system how it is right now, in my opinion and If they change it or not is irrelevant, I still play the game or not play it just like any other game.
I'm glad you like the system and have zero complaints, it is your opinion and you are well entitle to it. Far be it for me to tell you that your opinion is wrong because is not like mine.
That's what I ended up doing at first. Another way I found to workaround the stronghold/road bugs is rotating my base in the same spot so I can build each side of my base until complete. Then when complete I can plant it in the actual location I want as I'm no longer building so it doesn't matterif the strong/road bug happens.
VRising, Valheim, Ark, Rust, DayZ, Minecraft you name the game, I want to see and experience the builds and community.
I hope you find your happy place in this game regardless :)
I know what you are saying and it is True in my humble opinion.
V Rising has done it brilliantly and Valheim, Ark are all great and I would not change their system either. I don't know what it is exactly about Once Human but it feels less clean and more chaotic to me than the games you listed, which I deffinetely agree with you on, have a great way of doing it.
Maybe it's because it is the Demo and tons of players started bases and left and it will be less chaotic and cleaner in the main release.
We'll see when they go live.
first of all .. you should use the word "opinion" more often and then take your "opinion" and put it up your probably also ugly and cluttered looking base
