This game used to be pretty amazing, but after the start of CBT2 it went downhill.
The developers let their Discord community take the wheel, and with it the game was dumbed down to appeal to the lowest common denominator. It's ridiculously simple now, most of the interwoven complexities between its various systems (which is part of what it made so interesting) have been removed, the survival mechanics can almost be ignored at this point, and odd decisions like integrating Palworld type themes into the game were embraced despite clashing badly with the game's vibe.
Starry Studios was so focused on chasing "Game of the Year" after seeing the initial hype surrounding their second closed beta test that they discarded much of what made it amazing in an effort to appeal to anyone with a pulse. Progression has been super-simplified and sped up to a ridiculous extent to move players as quickly as possible through a 6-week seasonal reset model few wanted (and many abandoned the game over after discovering).
sort of true, except I hate everything ubisoft puts out. I watched a friend play the division but never did personally, it just reminded me of it. The bloom will fall of the rose for most I'm willing to wager, but there's always going to be devoted fans of anything I guess.
The only thing that I'm bitter about is that there's nothing really that good to play that's new...welcome to 2024 lol
The demo seems to be a build from CBT3, which many felt was a disappointment. It is nothing like CBT2.
