NetEase is baiting you

Not sure how all of you are getting so easily baited by NetEase. The gameplay is similar to a mobile game and there's nothing gamebreaking about it when compared to other zombie survival games like Days Gone.

The only fancy tech they've managed to pull is the ability to house multiple players into one world but that takes away the whole survival aspect of it. I've only played this game for 1-2 hours, endured the bad story and voice acting only to be disappointed from the survival gameplay.

An example would be, your character hunts animals in the wild, does a cheap skinning animation, cooks the meat and does a cheap animation of eating... and that's it? You mine rocks, minerals, throw them into some kind of container to processes and magically turn into ingots? Like, is that it?

While I know the game is free to play, I don't understand the hype at all. There's no survival gameplay, there's nothing horror about the enemies or the environment. Like the enemies themselves are just a server shard, once they've been cleared, they just disappear into thin air.

Can I just conclude that most of you here are just free to play players that have no alternatives to other games like DayZ, SCUM, Ark Survival, Conan Exiles, Days Gone, 7 Days to Die because they cost money?

Interesting take. I wonder if it feels similar to a mobile game because it is in fact for mobile devices. Honestly, even in the game people did not check the website before playing. It clearly says Steam, Windows, Epic, iOS, and Google Play. So keep in mind those limitations

People don't read then look stupid like this, it's a mobile game not catered to westerners. Also paid companies he brought up have been known to rinse players before one of them did it recently *cough* Ark *cough* his own rant made him look like a hypocrite. It's a simpler crafting system still better than I thought not amazing but not bad actually.

I've not gotten to the pay to win mechanics the developers will implement but there's no doubt. The event page says it all. You can spend a number of resources to claim items. Those free resources will soon cost money in order to redeem premium in game items to process your gear.

But what baffles me is the feedback system at the start. Game tells you "Have you played Genshin, Diablo, etc". It is a clever trick into making the player think the developers actually care about their game but in reality, the feedback is towards the players from the developer. Or in other words, the developers are saying to the player "We've played the games we've listed here. You can trust us on delivering a similar experience".

Another thing, before I uninstalled the game there was a "Battleground zone" or something similar to Undawn's boss battles with multiple players. It's just an area, the size of a soccer field. I assume a boss with hordes of enemies will spawn there while players gather into a cluster to earn rewards on a given time. So there's no doubt there will be FOMO events.

You mention "westerners" yet your profile claims you're living in Canada. Is Canada not a western country? And judging by your lack of comprehension, I assume you're an invader and you're not purely Canadian.

about the crafting system. the dude is one of those who likes stupid complications like running through 100500 chests in search of a snotty handkerchief for crafting a bandage.

how is your butthurt related to the game. you only wrote a little bit about the game in 1 post. everything else is your guesses and fantasies.

Imagine quoting "imagine" in 2024. Start a discussion with something more original or professional and maybe people will take your post seriously. Otherwise there's nothing "simpler" about 7 days to die. You spawn in with nothing and your damage increases with leveling.

In Once Human, you are magically given a machete. You're able to get water from a nearby water source. Food is abundant in what seems to be a "post-apocalyptic" game.
