5. Nothing to really do once you get to level 30.
6. Scenario is too long for how little content there is.
7. Terrible teleporter locations.
8. Rehashed and reskinned silo content from Manibus.
9. Zip lines that straight up clip through the walls/floor.
10. Chaosweaver rewards arent worth the resources needed to kill it.
11. Empty assets peppered across the map.
12. The only good POI (Wishland) should've been saved for later levels.
13. Cutscene at the end was broken, so you couldn't tell what was happening.
14. New weapons/deviants are mid at best.
15. New weapons get released, but bosses are immune to them.
I can go on, but I'll let others have a shot...
agree with everything.
the cutscene for me was broken as well, frustrated me to the point i changed my review from positive to negative.
true and true, the weather mechanic needs work, i personally always have 2 sets of clothes cold and hot ones but yeah in some areas the stones are still needed, i died several times cause i didnt realize the stones effect wore off while i was roaming around
I have no idea what Netease is thinking, when they're gimping half of the builds in game for these major boss encounters. This needed to be removed like 4 months ago, but yet it's still an issue in game and they're now only "discussing" about addressing it.
Way of Winter was a MAJOR disappointment. The verticality of exploration some of the POI's has been enhanced, more items for scrapping are available now, which were nice additions...but most strong holds are just an anchor, no mystic chest, not kill or chest looting objectives..where as Manibus had a mystic crate in every strong hold location that had an anchor. Which meant you got way more blue print fragments in Manibus vs WoW.
Yes, HARD MODE Manibus was still easy, the only problem I hated there was the constant eating of food and water. WoW was and is even worse with bugged weather and temperatures killing people left and right for no damn reason, throw in half baked and finished POI's, cut and copy pasted Silos, and pretty boring engagement with the Chaos Weavers, which give you literally trash loot but wastes 10k of your ammo. I am 100% going back to Manibus after my WoW server ends because least in Manibus I had way more fun with the server doing Prime Wars vs these lame as hell Chaos Weaavers and randomly dying to extreme temps. That and Manibus was more rewarding, doing the POI's.
you're not wrong, i enjoyed manibus novice and hard, yeah hards eating and drinking was annoying but no where near as messed up and boring as WoW. i'm going back to manibus too once my WOW season ends, and i highly doubt i'll come back to wow ever again UNLESS chaosweavers become totally different and after i watch videos confirming that they have become somewhat fun not this lame crap we're dealing with right now. i also don't understand why there are no secret rooms in silos anymore since its basically copy paste. this wow season has been an utter disappointment
2 - Recycled silos and bosses from manibus. New map need to only have new silos and bosses not the old ones.
3 - Chaosweaver fight is boring.
4 - The weather thing is very anoying some times. We should not die instantly by cold/heat even using the right gear.
2 - The weather is cool, but it really doesnt even matter really no point, Chaosium lantern + all weather stew + coldium or heatium, you can wear anything, but there is no point to this really, just adding on more chores to do as this is limited time buffs. Better just re do this whole thing. like just make it so it makes you more hungry quicker on cold, and more thirsty on hot, simple and thats it focus on other things................... for a survival game THIS DOESNT HAVE TO BE COMPLICATED
3 - Silos and bosses thats recycled are all pretty disappointing, the whole point of the server wipes is to have new things next season, if recycling is the route they gonna take, then i dont see myself sticking around and playing recycled garbage.
4 - WoW on top of all that, has less locations to explore, which is a huge disappointment, because Manibus, atleast has so many locations to explore before you get bored, WoW i had myself explore everything then sit around doing nothing or go back to doing #1 and #3, and just wait until next phase to open the new zones.......
5 - I hate all the immunity they keep giving enemies, its annoying in a shooting game, you already have bullet sponges, now you gonna make the bullet sponges even more spongy..... it would of been better just remove immunity overall, and have it do like 50% damage to certain enemies on body shots and 100% on headshots, or invent some new weakspots on enemies..... like riot shield guys are fine because it make sense, shooting a shield of course, but when i dump a mag into a enemy in the face and it does nothing like ZERO, this is turning into the problem with The Division (first one)
I could go on all day, but I still play this game from time to time, as I still think it can be great! But looking at the route they are taking now, I dont know anymore...
2. Chaosweaver mechanics too simplified. Shoot chainsaw arm, shoot tail/arms, shoot chest, done.
Not enough player interaction compared to Prime War where it involved crafting missiles, dealing with sub-bosses (Nightmare difficulty) and each boss had a unique last resort move.
3. Overcomplicated temperature mechanics. There are 2 meters to manage but only 1 meter is consistently prominent.
The ambient temperature meter (minimap) is very clear but often moves around due to extreme temperature changes (mainly by Chaosweaver). While the body temperature meter (above HP bar) is confusing as hell with the thermometer and the body shape (when afflicted with negative effects).
The interaction between the both is overly complicated. The body temperature meter is what matters most but the ambient temperature meter is what players actually can control. This mismatch is extremely poor UX design even though it is realistic.
It should just be 1 meter and that 1 meter needs to be controllable by players (i.e. gear and food can immediately and directly impact it).
4. The clothing mechanic for temperature is not meaningful enough.
Currently, the difference between hot and cold weather gear is just 1 piece of fur. This is fine but all this mechanic does is force players to make 2 sets of the same gear but just with fur difference because there is no incentive to change builds for different weather gear except for the Blackstone gear set.
The temp mechanics are really easy, keep the needle in the grey area, adjust the grey area with the blatantly obvious hot/cold items. The only real criticism is that the system is so easy its just an annoyance to keep up with, not because its complicated.
What you shared is how to manage ambient temperature which is true. It is easy.
However, what makes the thing confusing especially for newer players is the body temperature because that is the meter that actually kills you.
For eg. If you get hypothermia or heatstroke (i.e. you failed the body temperature meter), going to a location with good ambient temperature (i.e. white area in ambient temperature meter) will still kill you unless the thermometer meter (part of ambient temperature meter) is recovered.
You forgot to mention how the devs either don't care or are totally out of touch with us, the players. Both the same thing really.
Chaosweavers are nothing but an annoyance and a waste of time and ammo. Not to mention extremely boring.
The weather dynamics are ridiculous and poorly implemented. The player can go from extreme heat to extreme cold in a matter of seconds. The whole weather setup is irrational. Again a reflection on the devs.
The content is rubbish compared to manibus and when you get to level 50 you may as well put the game away. It gets painfully boring.
