Event System is Dumb
I was just getting settled in after moving to the Iron River zone, making upgrades and stuff when an event popped off next to me so I was super hyped so I grabbed all my stuff and headed over.... only to immediately get killed... by another player.... on a PvE server...

So yea apparently PvP events can happen even on a PvE server. That is quite literally the dumbest thing I have ever seen in my life. Like the entire server is setup and dedicated to PvE, people cooperating with each other to overcome challenges rather than ravenously tearing each other apart on sight for whatever they have. Someone in game chat said "oh well you just have to pay attention to what event it is." and I absolutely disagree. If I am on a PvE server I should NEVER have to think to myself "Is this a PvE event? Or is it a PvP event?"

I was hyped to do all the stuff in Iron River, get more resources, upgrade my weapons, armor, my base etc. Now... I don't think I'll even consider playing the game for a few days that is how hard this dumb event system has killed my enjoyment of the game. This needs to be changed before the next season that is for sure because if it isn't I know I at least will not be coming back for season 2.

just dont go to it? no one is forcing you to run there your gear takes 0 damage and you lose nothing in the pvp event dont see why you need to complain about it just dont go to them clown farming fr

this sounds like whole bunch of I have skill issues and "I got owned" type of thing to me

Skill?

My experiance with these cargo events is that a bunch of lowbies show up with their level 1 and 2 pea-shooters, and then one level 50 yolo's in with his pimped out LMG, sprays the area and effortlessly one-shots all the lowbies, whack-a-mole's them so nobody else can get a single shot off, and then walks away with all the spoils, having never broken a sweat in the process.

It takes skill alright. All the tremendous skill of shooting dead fish in a barrel.

I will report this to the Development team. Did you loose any items by any chance?
Right except 'reporting' doesn't mean they are removing anything and tbh they may not even tell the Devs atall.
still dont know why he even said that, its an event in game by the devs who have announced it even and how it works and it specifically says "available on both pvp and pve servers" at the bottom lololol

I agree with the OP, a PVE server should not have these types of events. Also, don't tell people to "pay attention" as most of the event descriptions and instructions are so horrible it isn't clear even what you are supposed to do let alone that it is a PVP event.

I encourage you all to take that survey that pops up on the event screen sometimes as it is mainly about PVP events. I had allot of opportunity in that survey to voice my opinion on this and I think that might be a way to be heard.
Yeah no learn to read. they literally made a post about this yesterday on Steam, explaining the event. which you do not lose anything from, nor damage your gear. you do need to do the event to get the late game vendor currency {Mushroomhead lady}

Plus super easy, do headshots with the sniper {get it to Tier 3 or 4} and you can kill players 10-15 lvls above you. i was 38 and killed multiple lvl50's

Yeh I don't understand either. sometimes I wonder if people just want to argue for the sake of it but run out of things to say lol.

Please don't remove the PVP events, it breaks the monotony of a PVE enviroments which is good. Most people don't play PVP servers because they dont wanna be 24/7 defending the base or getting zerged.

With the PVP events like this, you go play a bit and then leave if you feel you are being overpowered, it's optional and noone forces you to participate
The red phase wall you go through is a pvp heads-up. Sometimes it's not but sometimes it is pvp.
I think the main issue with the cargo thing is that it moves through areas with little to no warning so when it arrives the subsequent deaths from higher geared players in lower levelling zones just feel cheap.

Nothing wrong with PVP events within PVE but other games tend to have them as a static location which can be avoided during peak hours. Having static ones would also mean that there's no performance hit from a mobile event travelling past player housing and the impact that can have on the combat
