Not having private servers is insulting
I played most major survivals and for some reason I couldn't stand this game more than 30 minutes once in the real map. IDK why it feels so egregious I think the claim radius is just too small but it's like the entire map is littered with half built shacks huddled together it's massively off putting. I spent half an hour running around in a sea of player shacks then just "popped in" into a player base that appeared around me and was stuck there. Absolute freakin ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

Private servers would just fragment the playerbase even more and make it harder to interact with others, which is what the developers are trying to get you to do with things like specializations being random. Ontop of this you would then have to deal with power trip admins on their server doing whatever they feel like doing with nobody to stop them.

Actually a bad and low IQ take.

But seeing that there is no way to play alone, and you are constantly seeing half build buildings all around you, its not really a fun experience if you want to experience it with just yourself or with a friend only.
Whats the reason to play the game if you are forced to see other players you dont wanna meet.
It's an mmo you can probably figure out what the mm part of mmo means i bet
Your opinion is your own but the fact of the matter is you chose to play an mmo, so what did you expect? That's all im trying to say
The reasoning for those opinions are flawed though. So it is like they have no real opinion to begin with.

Anything they said can be done in this game, even wanting a quiet/dead world to basically play on your own. Just move to a higher count world via teleport nodes.

In the end, they should never try MMOs or any live service game. I am wondering why they even tried the game knowing that this is a MMO/live service is public knowledge.

Like being in seperate dimensions where you can interact with their world if you wanted to by encountering them or being near a place where you can see them as ghost or something similar.
So you're a fan of "safe spaces" and playing with yourself?
Thats a weird way to put it, but in a sense yeah. Because not everyone want to just be togeather with every player they meet in the game.
The only gripe i have with the game currently is that im unable to experience the game alone, because alot of players already roam in the server, so i cant even find a spot for myself that i want to build, because they all taken.

Change to a different World (AKA: Shard) then, at a teleport beacon. Stop whimpering and DO something about it!

If you don't like online games stop playing online games. You installed this game knowing it was an MMO. This isn't rust. stop trying to treat it like it is.

private servers suck for seasonal games, the game would have like 1/3 of the player base on a server, the server infrastructure would also be very VERY costly to maintain. Likely thousand dollars a month for a one world server.

My evidence. Look at PoE and Diablo 3/4 vs Grim dawn and Last Epoc (Which one has more players?) PoE and Diablo 4. If you like smaller servers and lower population, then go play a different game.

Another thing to consider, that servers they use aren't your home PC and virtualized. They have a lot more than 128 gigs of ram and is able to save all character things, For example pal world a 32 gig server could barely cope with 10 players. at .26c a 4000 player cap would be 1000 dollars a month.

Though, because the server is 4x bigger, it would probably cost more on top, I could easily see a server that runs this good, and supports this many players at once, cost a pretty penny. Running a private server with this more complex net code would be possible, but be VERY costly.

Private server admins are also hard to keep in check and they love to cheat with their favored players often, another example wurm unlimited. vs wurm online, ironically this is also proof that games that have public private servers that require large numbers of players to run into them around 2-4 times an hour Will both take advertising budget, and the cost of the server to compete.

Only a few home brew relic games that used much older technology stack Like WoW, and some others ARE able to have private public servers through moding, and also costs a lot of money for those, or prior investment that uses hardware that is outdated

But most importantly for netease, they would lose money rather than gain.

Agreed

It is public knowledge what this game is about. OP not knowing is their fault.

It's a f2p game with a cash shop those two things tend to clash with private servers

I'm just sick of people wanting private servers for every online game. Games don't need to have single player options for people who want to be antisocial. Just play single player/Co-op games if you don't want to interact with people outside your immediate friend circle.

I am antisocial when it comes to MMOs/Live service games. But I adjust and play them solo as best as I can. Found this game easy to solo most of the gameplay. Played every test the same way

It's an honest way to put it, it helps to illustrate the absurdity of your comment, this is an MMO. The MM in that is a major spoiler as to what you're gonna encounter in this game. I didn't start the game til the day after release and I can honestly tell you that I've never had an issue finding an acceptable spot to place my territory

Any F2P game with premium currency will never offer official private servers. They cannot sell you microtransactions and support the game if you're not on an official server for security reasons.

If the server is running on your machine you could give yourself infinite premium currency very easily.

What you should be asking for is a buy to play conversion of the game, as that would be much more likely to offer private servers.
Das Apple Jul 16, 2024 @ 5:35pm
So where is my elder scrolls online private servers... or new world... or guild wars 2, swtor, star trek online etc...
What about if i want to play apex legends alone, why doesn't that game offer single player with AI bots.
Damn these companies are so insulting to us consumers, we should get whatever we want in any game we want.
