There are a variety of ways to create a game where people can name themselves whatever they want. This can include hidden ID numbers or forced last names. However, this game is using an ancient naming system where every name is locked to an account. VERY annoying.

Not only is the name locked across all servers, but every player character created *already* has a unique identifier in your uid - I didn't create a character on the server my friends were playing on at first and the uid of both characters are different. So there's seemingly no reason to lock out names once 1 person has used it across all servers.

you call it annoying, i actually like that i can search and befriend people by their in game name and don't need to copy paste a cryptic id.
of all the reasons i heard people not play the game this is the most obscure to me.

Some have a few of my character names I use for entirely different games which is kind of weird unless the servers watevs find them offensive.

sounds like someone needs to not use "bob" are their player name and get creative.
