Cope lol. Warframe is crap, period. And the controls are bog standard "new game" level for an MMO. If you think this is clunky you have never played WoW.
Am I wrong in remembering that even though you can obtain all weapons and frames in game you still have to build them and wait for a certain time to pass to use them? And you can speed that process up with money? They seems like paywall to me. This game doesn't have any sort of system like that in place. That seems pretty egregious and seems like it prays on patience to speed up certain things.
I shall quote this this one if you Dont mind Saxony.
I have 33 hours into this and it is how Jax explained it
huh? paying to speed up crafting is a pay wall? no. had you needed to pay money in order to complete said craft it would be a pay wall. the game doesnt stop all of a sudden because you have things crafting in the foundry.
a battlepass that has a premium section that you cannot get the rewards from unless you pay is on the other hand pay walling rewards.
To be honest, If you're saying that with intent to be "objective" that Once Human has a better F2P system than warframe then either you've been provided with extremely false information or that you don't know enough about warframe to be comparing the two
When it comes to both games and the matter of the superior "free to play" standard, Warframe wins by miles
Cosmetics
- Almost all cosmetics can be bought which the TRADABLE currency that is both in abundant and is extremely accessible to both new and old players in warframe, In Once human a good majority of cosmetics is completely locked behind a paywall with NO ways for free to players to gain them, Outside of the very very very few that can be unlocked through events and with a specific currency. Winner - Warframe by miles ahead
Premium Currency
- As written above, Warframes premium currency is completely tradable between all players and is actually extremely easy to obtain, As a low level i was able to make enough currency to buy all the cosmetics i want within a days of work, This game however has no way to obtain the premium currency without spending real money, Winner - Warframe
Battlepass
- Warframes battlepass (Nightwave) is completely free for everyone and has everything a player could need from weapon skins, cosmetics, mods and other extremely important equipment which again is completely free with no "Paid" alternative (a premium version), Once human on the other hand has a Free to play variant along with a premium version, The only way to obtain the premium battlepass is having to BUY it, Sure you can argue its only $10 but if your having to pay for services compared to warframes completely free services, Then its a pretty clear cut and dry winner - Warframe
Thought it was worth mentioning ^ That Once Human has another PAID pass called "Meta Pass" Which gives cosmetics for the first 3 levels but then proceeds to give you shorter cooldowns on eternaland orders as well as reduced building costs.... Yup "Better" Free system btw
So yes, Even if warframe is a niche game, It does actually have a superior Free to play system than Once Human in literally every single way, You need to keep in mind you're comparing a new game to a game thats been around for almost a decade, You aren't gonna with in terms of a "F2p/Pay2win" debate
yeah
2: if so, is it a PUBG/rust situation where it's forced pvpve?
no
3: what's the monetization like?
idk i dont buy stuff in games it seems a little high for me but again i dont buy things so it doesnt affect me and maybe i wouldn't know best
4: is there any degree of FOMO? (Fear of missing out) when it comes to said monetization?
I don't know what fomo is like. I guess if you're beholden to that kind of thing maybe but I dont think stuff goes away at least I didn't see anything that said "limited time only" or whatever, but I also didn't search the store with a fine tooth comb so I could have missed it to be fair.
5: is this another god forsaken battle pass situation?
I dunno what this means
It's sad how far Deep Rock fell, they clearly stopped giving a ♥♥♥♥ towards the end. I feel like rockpox was so bad like just totally un-fun, but thats probably just my opinion
RIP good game, u can still play it but they basically abandoned it for their mobile game or whatever that rocket jump game is
1. It is strictly online.
2. There is NO forced PVP. Even on the PVP server you have to flag up for PVP, PVE servers have certain events that are PVP, the rewards are pretty mid.
3. It's all cosmetic, all of it. There is as of writing this no mechanical advantage that you can purchase with real money, neither directly or indirectly.
4. This will probably exist to some degree, but at this point it time we really don't know.
5. There is a battle pass, I'm going to be perfectly honest all the best stuff on the battlepass is on the free version of the battlepass. It's where all the starchrome is, which is what you use for legendary blueprints from the wish machine. The premium battlepass legit doesn't even award Starchrome. It is entirely cosmetics, and for me personally, the first pass cosmetics are pretty mid, so I haven't bought it.
You might also be concerned about wipes, the only real thing you're going to lose with wipes is player level and basic materials, you will keep all cosmetics, all formulas, all blueprints, all starchrome, main and sub quest progress etc etc. Materials are laughably easy to grind, you'll have more than you know what to do with by just playing the game. Deviations can also help automate some of the resource gathering.
It's free, and I highly suggest giving it a try at the very least. It may not be for you, but I've put about 50 hours in so far and I've been having a blast the whole way. I have never felt like I was grinding even once.
Hence why i didn't say anything about buying items in either game apart from cosmetics :P
You can only compare things from both games when they are actually comparable otherwise its like beating a dead horse ya know, Honestly, i think both games are fine, Warframe grew into an alright game with a really good free to play system but it had a decade to grow, And im sure Once Human will grow to be either a good game or a bad one but at the moment its brand new and basically is just a baby, I say we wait for it to grow
