how do I convert stardust ore into stardust source or any other stardust item, if there is more?

in your meme points the top left is a window to click. every 5 levels you get to chose a talent among a list . at random you may get a talent called Stardust refining i think. it lets you refine the ore into dust at your furnace

You can, but you will be attacked. How well you fend them off depends on you. I am level 27 and still havent unlocked decent defence or fortified my house in any way with better materials. But then, i am enjoying the game in other ways.
