Opening mission bugged?

I get the keycard, get the cradle, and then I can't find the mysterious bird creature. I watched a video of this section and the bird is supposed to show up right after you get that backpack, so where is it? My marker shows it's below me about 40-50 m. I tried this twice (two different servers) and the same issue.

Is this common or is there a fix? I searched the discussion and didn't find anything specific to this issue.

Had same thing happen to me, try using the unstuck button it menu it worked for me.

I cannot even get the cradle, the room with the sliding doors is empty and I tried unstuck and even jumped off the stairs til i died, still cant progress...

I also have the issue of not even getting the cradle, the room is empty and I've tried exiting out the game, unstuck, and self-destruct. Anyone have a fix for this? I can't even progress...

I'm with you bros I played 74 minutes trying to figure out the 'secret' to progressing past; in the Eve of Evolution mission. Turns out, there was supposed to be a cutscene where you get the cradle that never happened. I spent an hour jumping on boxes like an idiot before I googled it and discovered that the opening mission is bugged with no workaround.

Literally an unplayable game.

If you've already done this part at least once then you can skip it by starting in simplified mode I suppose, no clue for a brand new run though, hope for a patch I guess or start over and hope it doesn't do it again

46 minutes... that's my play time... trying to communicate with WHAT F'KING BIRD?

Finally dropped out to YouTube...and ya... that backpack never appeared and definitely no bird.

If this is the opening sequence, not interested in the rest (well I am, it looks like a cool game, but my blood pressure can't take it!)
