Can enemies go into water when they attack our base in a purification raid?

I've yet to have it happen, however you'll get ones that fly attacking

If you are asking "can I exploit water to stop getting attacked"? The answer is no you cannot.

nope, I was near water on the last raid and my stairs were kind of dipping into it and I noticed that they preferred to spawn on the other side of the base on land and of course dig through the base to get to the yellow core. So I was wondering if water is something they usually avoid to go into, even if it's not that deep.

It is kinda 50/50, some of the monsters will stop moving in the water, tho yeah the ranged ones will still hit your house while the smaller close combat monsters will get stuck.

Not 100% sure if there is a way you can build in super deep water away from land making it so nothing can attack your base, tho I imagine the devs in the future might patch it out.

Water will help you keep the base a live long tho since there will not be a conga line of death, since it seems most melee based enemies run to the front door at least they use to, then break into your base and smash everything.

yes I do it all the time enemies can't go in the water the only thing that can go in the water that's crocodiles that's not exploiting anything that's in every single game known to mankind

Ok so potentially if my base has the back to the water, they won't spawn behind it in the water, right? Maybe flyers

There are flying enemies and ones that are several feet tall that can and do wade in to deeper water. Almost other enemy unit can wade in to shallow water, as shown by the town with crocodiles and deviants in the same depth of water. And you cannot build in deep water, where as crocodiles can swim in any depth. Hence why they can chase you out in to rivers before giving up.

You cannot build a house and think it wont be attacked if its in the water. Enemies will simply spawn different variants to get to you. It cannot be exploited to stop your base getting attacked indefinitely.

just trying to have them spawn not on the opposite side where my Resonant filter is.
Now I wonder if my main base foundations are attached to the foundation where my Resonant filter is will they think that they have to carve through my main base to get to the filter if they spawn on the opposite side? That's pretty much what happened to me last wave. I bet if I disconnect the foundations maybe they will just spawn closer to the filter. Which is on one edge of my territory.

Indeed. What I did was make a couple of shooting platforms and place them around the filter on some waste ground in front of my house. I then added a few sandbags to block entry and they went direct for the filter and got body blocked around it. They had to attack the sandbags first, which meant plenty of time to pop them in the head.

They did however also attack my deviants, but that is because I did not close the door and they wandered out in front of them.

Is your filter foundation attached to the main structure foundations? Even if not right in it?
AoD_lexandro Jul 15, 2024 @ 10:31pm
Filter doesn't need a foundation. I can be placed on the ground directly.
