Morphic Loot Crates? What are they?

I am tasked with finding and looting one Morphic Loot Crate, in order to complete the quest "Mayfly's Fantastic Journey". It is the only task remaining for me to complete the event, and to recieve the Matrix AWS .338 rifle.

What are these Morphic Loot Crates? Aren't they the "mimic" boxes that pop up and attack you when you get near to open them?

If so, I have killed and looted way more than just 1 of these in my playtime here.

Is this event bugged? Has anyone completed it?

Any tips on where to find this "Morphic Loot Crate" appreciated.

Those are chests with legs in short. There is one to be found easily in Overlook Town (right from the first camp), it spawns in the middle of that semi-cricle stadium thingy.

ive looted like 17(okay not literally probably like 7) morphic crates and the journey hasnt completed unforch for some reason it doesnt count still TwT

Morphic crates include the Mimics crates.

RNG morphic crates dont count afaik. That is the morphic crates you get from following the purple markers dont count. It has to be the "zone" chest for the area designated.

Easy way to find them is....look in or on the roofs of the most polluted buildings. Higher pollution means you are closer to the chest.

Same here. I've looted around 10+ Morphic Crates and the Journey hasn't ever updated for me.

It's under the season goals. you have to track it first in order to complete it.

This is the correct answer. I'm lvl 31 and I hadn't seen even one of them. I've gone to the nearest mark that this map showed me and I've found a chest with legs. Finally completed the task

Little yellow light thingy that blinks on your backpack. Faster it blinks, shows how close you are to them. At max blink, hit Q. It appear.

Thanks. I guess there is translate-related issue, mimic chest called morphic as well and is very frustrating since morphic ones are also invisible)

Best to check interactive map for fixed morphic chests. When near the crate your cradle sensor will start to pulse yellow. The closer you are to the crate, the closer it will pulse. At max speed you gotta hit "Q" once to reveal the crate.
