Game freezes

anyone else having issues where the game will randomly freeze for 20 seconds then start working again? itll happen repeatedly then not happen for a while. completely random

This sounds like a hardware issue from your description. Does this happen with other games?

I'm having the same thing. Doesn't happen in any other game. Even dropped to 2k resolution and still happened.

I have same issue but all PC got freeze and must unplugged the PC from electricity to restart it.

Yes! Every so often it will freeze for 20-30 seconds. Just happened 4 times within 30 minutes and I was just standing around my base trying to craft stuff. Not a single other game has ever done this for me. So frustrating =\

Anyone find any fix for this? literally every 5 minutes i get like a 25 second freeze. if i wait, it comes back and im good for another five. seems to happen A LOT when im in or near Tall Grass Inn or when I'm opening other players whispers. but not specific to those. it's getting pretty frustrating.

IT helped me. I have a Rampage 2 Extreme 10GB Memory Radeon RX550 and 3 HDDs not a SSD. And I'm planning with no problem after updating my pc.

It's most likely from people who uploaded photos to the picture frame before they disabled it. This needs more exposure. Anyone getting freezes please report it on their discord and message the support bot about this issue. For the people that this is the case, using a VPN seems to "fix" it, meaning somewhere along the line between you, your ISP and the cloud servers, the connection simply hangs and due to bad code also makes the game hang until the sdk_timeout error is reached after that 1 minute freeze.
Using Proton VPN's free edition while playing Once Human now as a temporary workaround but really hoping the devs fix this asap.
The fact they've done nothing about it for a whole month (even adding a small option to disable loading cloud images would be a very fast fix to implement) must mean they simply don't care if some players' ISP blocks their cloud IP for whatever reason.
