It brings some MUCH NEEDED randomness into the mix. Pick from your options and attempt to utilize that specialization to your benefit.
Otherwise, you'd just follow the Meta (yes you would, stop lying) and pick the same things as everyone else, each season.
You got dealt a bad hand? Only 5 weeks left of this season. You'll live through it. Your character isn't screwed. You just didn't get the optimal perks you wanted.
Arguably none of the pick are bad... just not as good as people hyping their own specs...
I went the full hoarder route so I can make Silver Ingots and get extra yields on ore and skinning... that only resulted in the fact all my vendors are now capped when it comes to selling stuff to them and I'll have to wait till the next phase before I can sell to them again....so those skills are now, arguably, worthless as I can't do anything with the yields from them....
If you've already chosen, then there's no workarounds other than the reset option (unless they change things).
The game isn't punishing anyone, it's encouraging you to learn and use intelligence to predict and play the market. If you fail one go, you try again next time. People are doing the same thing with weapon mods and set bonuses, you can't farm ALL of them so you have to choose and predict what will be useful versus what will change or get nerfed. Heck, even the specs you CAN reset from killing bosses are wildly different from the ones that were in the beta. So apparently even those are random? Or just vary by season? Or maybe just updated from beta?
The point is -- seasons. I wouldn't get comfortable with ANY knowledge you have or anything you think is meta. Everything can and will change. It already has and will do so again. So pick the specializations that work for your playstyle, your build, and don't worry so much if someone else gets a lucky find that you wish you had. Instead, develop a relationship with your server community and TRADE. Heck, the best Hives are the ones using players of varying specializations in cooperation building enhanced Furnaces and other goodies for each other. You don't need Silver ingot specialization, you can ask your mate to do it for you since he has it.
I dont even know if you can list them in there, but just a thought.
I also dont know if its even viable, in my server only 3 people (1 of them is me) have vending machines, and the other 2 machines have 1 item in each :|
I dont think ill be able to do this sadly, lol.
I actually am; for 5K.... I also sell the surpluss of the goodies I get from hunting but not that many people come by OR know the value of one of those ingots.... yet...
Each player can only generate 250,000 energy links per week from vendors. This is a fixed amount that cannot be increased. So if you are spending money to make money, you sold to the vendor for 6000 but only made 1000. That means your weekly profits will be 1/6th of 250,000 -- or 41666. Making less than 50k per week is not worth it unless it's the absolute best you can do. Meanwhile, you as a silver seller are earning beyond 250,000 per week since you are taking the limited earnings of other players to feed yourself.
