Cannot Place Garage

I am running into an issue placing the garage. I am trying to place it in my territory, but just get the error cannot be built near a strong hold. I am not near any build limit as I only have a 4x4 foundation with some work benches placed. Any ideas what might be wrong?

I've found that everything needs to be placed on a foundation to start with, you can't just drop things onto the ground/grass/dirt etc

Try putting down a few more foundations and place the garage on top.

Yea you need to build a Foundation for it and can't be too close to road. I also tried moving my garage after i redid my house and couldn't place it so i had to demolish walls and place it and build back around it
