What happened to the Exploration Puzzles from Closed Beta Test 1? Like Hearst Industries???
What happened to the Exploration Puzzles from Closed Beta Test 1? Like Hearst Industries???

In Close Beta Test 1, you had to read lore, to get fuses, to get keys, and do a jump puzzle to activate the elevator in order to kill the elite at the top. Now, all doors are open, and elevator works from the start.

What???

Why is this a thing???

I haven't seen them since CBT3. Much of this game was dumbed down and simplified after CBT2, in part because of wipes and also to make the game accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Unfortunately going generic does not usually lead to interesting gameplay.

Anyone else from CBT1, or even CBT2, that recalls more items removed? I did a post about Rotten Manor being completely destroyed from its previous story telling and I do not understand why they are doing this... is it the publisher?

I agree with that, but is that not ultimately just making it more interesting to come back around when the scenario/map replays?

They will be using the other stuff from previous betas in the next seasons.

I was being optimistic that it will rotate out to keep it "interesting" but you you gotta admit that the area bosses have been stripped alongside a bit of other content that was literally IN the game and working

When this same scenario returns it will be exactly the same as it is now, and you'll be back at level 1 again (as you will be when entering any scenario/season).

Other scenarios/seasons will take place on other parts of the map that are not accessible in this season. If you look at the current map in the game, we only get access to about 20% of it this season. Different scenarios will take place on different parts of the map.

But the depth and complexity from the older beta tests is gone, because everything is built around the idea of getting you through the season as quickly as possible because you only have 6 weeks (from the start) before the season concludes. Granted, some seasons can be longer but some can be even shorter.

I guess they viewed anything that could slow you down (like a puzzle) as not fitting in well with that schedule.

Unless you can provide a link to that information, that sounds like copium.

I cant stand puzzles inside games normally. If it ever was a thing that softlocked content behind "trying to figure out the puzzle" im in full support of it theoretically being removed.

The puzzles were nothing crazy - simple "go through the offices, that lead to a note and key, that is used to unlock a door, that leads to the rest of the facility and other notes, which gets you to the elite/mystic box". It was simple progression that made each area tell a story, which is why I brought Rotten Manor up as it used to have a whole explanation of what happened there, giving it the name "Rotten Manor", which is not just because the last name was Rotten lol. It is a shame and I hope @Alzral is true or if its drip content post EA. I hate to see this beautiful game go to waste because of the stupidity of the general masses
