I want to be on PvP, but don't know if I should wait 5 weeks or make a new character (which would suck because I'm 50).
Yeah that's fine and all, but I want to know if I can bring my character to PvP in 5 weeks along with the blueprints and what not. Or if I have to start from scratch on PvP to have things on a PvP server.
you cannot, and this game isn't hard, :)
Yes you can, devs pretty much said what stays on your character and what's wiped.
Blueprints (and its stars), strarchrome, weapon/armor mods, weapon attachments, unlocked cosmetics are saved after season ends. You can go on pvp server with your current character during next season and have all important stuff with you. Map exploration, character level and house is reset
As well as character starting from scratch on move to new server.
Not enough slots everytime a friend joins and we all keep having to start from scratch everytime an additional friend wants to play with us. It’s all up to chance whether we can all get in or not.
I somehow doubt in this scenario that it would be fair to allow people to transfer or continue their PvE progress on a PvP server cluster. I would suspect those BP tables and progress to be stored separately.
At this point, my interpretation is that you are stuck on the server you selected at the start, at least for now. That is disappointing and I hope that changes. Starting a character over at level 1 and rebuilding my house isn't as time-consuming as the effort it took to unlock the BPs.
For the Devs:
IMO you should unlock BPs permanently on your account once you complete a season. If I have unlocked a Legendary BP 1-star for a Sniper, I could then look for more pieces to get that weapon to 2 or 3 stars through years of dedicated gameplay. My friends can't get on the server I rolled on, so now I am looking at being "punished" for starting early as I would have to re-roll on a new server with them. That doesn't really make sense.... What would work for me is: if I finish the last 2.5 weeks of my server's season, unlock my BPs, and then roll a new toon on their server, with all my BP progress so far to get me started. I will catch up to them in level, my main Storyline will be done as that is also saved right? I will just start clearing zones and helping with world events, playing with my friends, no progress "lost".
