Once Human

Once Human

[Bug?]Any way to force a farther draw distance for LOD and Textures?
Seriously, was this game developed to run in a toaster?
Because the texture and LOD pop-in is insane, like, there was some rocks in a beach appearing no more than 10 meters from where my character was, and all these textures that get unloaded and reloaded around you when you move the camera too fast.

It's a PC game, if you don't want to fry the console players, give us sliders for this kind of thing and let us tweak according with what our hardware can handle.

Playing the game at all max graphical settings in my machine, getting only 50% Vram used, 33% system ram used, no more than 50% overall cpu usage in all cores, solid 60fps, and this pop-in is very distracting and annoying.

This is happening in various areas of the map. I even saw a bridge that I was under vanishing and reappearing when I moved the camera.

Ok, I compared the max and min Draw Distance option in the graphical settings, and the only difference is the draw of some shadows.

Maybe it's bugged?

I agree, "max" setting should be much farther. Devs should have more faith in people's hardware.

Its the same problem with No Mans Sky, indie game developers do not have any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue how to optimize the game and use the engine correctly so they think mip-mapping and occlusion culling is the solution to all problems. Its a terrible trend in games. You can clearly distinguish a AAA game with solid optimization and a indie game with amateur optimization simply by looking at how the textures load.

Not every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rock needs to be de-loaded and reloaded when I turn my camera for a second. Graphic cards have more on board memory than total disk usage of some AAA games from ten years ago.

Ultimately it's the lack of expertise of developers.
