Looking for Chest/Crates needs some kind of pity system for solo players.

I remember spending almost two entire hours searching for the weapon crate in dayton hosp last night before i gave up and went to bed. Before that, i spent hours and hours searching for other crates in other locations. With the monsters re spawning as i search, i almost leveled up from a Clean, empty exp level 10 to 11 just from searching alone, nothing else.

After someone has spent an hour and still haven't found the crates, i think it should give some clues or whatever to help find it. This dayton search here, was done while the backpack/craddle thing was empty/not showing any lights on it. But the other ones weren't.

I thought that's what the snapping was supposed to do. I'm walking around, snapping away like the Fonz in the hopes it'll help me triangulate that last box, and it's forever beyond my reach.

if you press hide all and then select the thing you want to show up like mystical chests or w/e it will put a pin where it is. This can at least give you a rough idea of the precise area it's in (for example the middle of the building) but it cant show height or depth unforch. Maybe in a few days/weeks the exact location will be in the item description. Hope it helps a little in the future at least

nah, thats just for your immediate surroundings. im not sure of the exact radius but its small. it doesn't help with a chest on the other side of the area lol

i used this last night, but it didnt have the weapon crate location on it, (which was the last thing i needed) XD

just checked and it STILL doesn't

What are my immediate surroundings? The detection sphere looks like it's going at least 20 feet in every direction so if I'm snapping on the move, you'd expect it to detect boxes as you walk a route.

Or, either you're lying yourself and actually DIDN'T finish every single zone.

I spend at max 20 mins looking for the weapon/gear crates and If I can't find them I look it up on Youtube....don't spend 2 hours looking for something that will make a small impact on your progression.

How can it be a guide on all of it though? The game only just released 2 days or so ago didn't it? Also dont the spawn locations change after a while? Do you have a particular channel you preference so i can see?

also i dont play for "rapid progression" just play when i can, for fun.

Okay, i see it now. The problem is that it actually wasnt a weapon crate all along in dayton hosp, it was just 2 gear crates. thought it would always be one of each. i didnt know that was a thing...but i see now.

From what I can tell, the detection is way less than it looks like - at least for crates.
Even tho I had 1 or 2 pop up at the edge of it all the others were only shown inbetween 1/4 and 1/2 of the shown range, about 30 minutes ago I had one not showing up at all, found that one by checking every room (good thing that I'm a loot goblin and check everything there, lol).

this is my advice
when you enter stronghold and looking for Weapons/Gear/Mystic Crate
- stop and scan (snap) when you near or in the building often and look around
- some crate like to be hide on the roof if you can get the high ground or access to the roof try watch for it
- Crate some time been guard by Elite Mob or many normal mob (like Rosetta Stronghold) if you see somewhere heavy guard check that area carefully
I complete all strong hold by do all above but yes I think scan (snap) is a bad range if dev fix this will wonderful

Something else i just noticed is that gear/weapon crates re spawn back. I just looted the same exact gear crate i did last night before bed. Logging on just now, i ran back to it and it was there.

So if you have trouble finding the other gear/weapon crate then exit the game, and after a while (in my case, a night's sleep and a few house chores), the same crate you looted in the area will re spawn again, opening it again will count towards the 0/2 progress.

How bizarre. lol
