Any way to login to email account through steam client?

Would like to use Steam, but it seems like its forcing me to have a Steam account, but already have an email account. Any luck linking the two?

No.
But.... if you use their launcher steam thinks that you're playing through steam. You get your playtime recorded, steam overlay is there, background recording is there. And you don't need to add it as non-steam game.
