Potential Fix For High CPU Usage by Using Nvidia Control Panel
This is just a copy and paste from my previous thread found here when we had a demo in June for Steam NEXT Fest.

Like in the Closed Beta Test 2 and the Steam NEXT Fest Demo, I fixed my high CPU usage by adding the game manually to Nvidia Control Panel. Sounds crazy but it has worked for me once again with the full launch of the game.

1. Go to Nvidia Control Panel

2. Click on Manage 3D Settings

3. On the right hand side you will see 2 tabs; Global Settings and Program Settings. Click on Program settings, and then click "Add". If Once Human is not listed in your recent programs click on "Browse" and add the game's .exe file from the installation folder.

4. Boot up the game and see if that fixed the high CPU issues.

If you are unfamiliar on where to find your installation folder for Step 3, an easy way to do this is by going to your Steam Library, right click on the game, choose 'Manage" and then "Browse Local Files". From there you can find the game's .exe file, right click on it and select "Copy as Path". Back in Nvidia Control Panel, after selecting "Browse" to add a game manually, right click the empty field listed "File Name" and select paste. You should see a string similar to this:

"D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Once Human Demo\ONCE_HUMAN.exe"

Hope this helps

I have high CPU usage spikes only when vsync is enabled. But I'll try this advice.

I should mention that I have vsync turned off in game but have it enabled in nvidia control panel. Another user above posted that he fixed his CPU usage by capping their framerate in game at 120 and not unlimited; I haven't actually tested that myself but that would make sense actually.

Yes I can confirm. I disabled vsync in the game and enabled it in the control panel. Load peaks fell from 80% to 40%. I have an old i5-10600k. Thank you =)
