Together with my Discord friends we found a place where you can find yourself a crocodile, most of them appear bugged and cannot be tamed, but in here we found some.

There is a little river above Tall Grass Inn in Chalk Peak. Just next to Holt Town

If you cannot find any crocks on the island, wait for the respawn or change the world and see if they are there :)
