I use Dualshock 4, i disabled Steam Input. After i got in game, i pushed PS Home button (may be also applicable to Xbox center home button), then the cursor will change from arrow to circle and now controller is usable. Good Luck.
- When moving the camera with right analog, it's kind of stuttering, even when the FPS counter say 100+ fps, it still visibly stutters. No such issue when using mouse input. Might be because of I'm using a 1000hz polling rate controller.
- Controller layout said you use RT to accelerate vehicle, but in reality you have to push left analog forward for that. Kinda weird, probably a bug.
I'm using a dual sense and the stuttering is there too, so not limited to your controller. Hopefully a fix soon. Sometimes i just wanna chill on the couch.
Edit: I turned on steam controller support, then used the top community profile and there was no lagy when spinning/aiming..I do prefer the built in Once Human controls, though.
I realised this to about the RT button "bug". I sent a message to support on their Discord, but i've yet to have an actual answer about that. Don't know how or when it'll be fixed.
I guess that's the answer because i just download and install the game, never use any steam configuration, connect my xbox one controller and works perfectly well.
Aiming needs a lot of rework but it's playable.
I can see reports like this all over the internet, with users reporting the same problem, myself included.
Surprisingly, this is from August 16, 2024. It's April 7, 2025, and the problem persists (all hope is lost).
This problem has nothing to do with the HZ update frequency or a specific brand or model (I've tried more than four different controllers, and the problem persists). I've also performed a clean install of Windows 10.
To top it off, the game doesn't allow me to disable the controller.
Using Steam Input solves the problem, but I get the feeling of input lag, and the gameplay is unpleasant.
