Float build the feeding trough to somewhere they can't attack you and fill it.
Q? Has anyone had their killer rabbit merc a tame? I removed mine before I placed tames but miss him lots already
Yeh, the animals, well, the deer hover right on top of trough and I have to move the trough to access it or spend time trying to get it and not them. Even when it shows the trough it'll open the animal even though they aren't showing.
Also, I think it takes way too much food and/or they lose hunger too fast. I spent hours farming enough food for 2 deer and a wolf and they've eaten all of that plus a whole rotation of planting corn and honey suckle to try to make some feed. They were starving when I got on today. That's about 75% of my playtime trying to get them fed, but I have other stuff to do.
You are away for some days or weeks means all your work for taming is just gone :/
I get the impression that even if I do manage to somehow, complete the process, that I will be spending the rest of my Once human life feeding the ungrateful wretch, until I use it in battle and it dies, so I will have to start again. Don't think I'll bother unless they change the process drastically, a la fishing which is MUCH better now.
It requires too many farm to maintain them for a very little production. Better take 1h to farm milk for example than having to spend 2x a day doing your crops for them or farming 1h plants everyday...
Right now the only reason to have animals is for base defense and most likely for PvP scenarios. Got a Grade S bear boost him to level 50 he has 45k+ HP and attack +15% with a passiv, it start to be not ridiculous at all.
For the rest it s just not good at all. Didnt test if they were producing special meats giving more buff or something like that... but overall like many things in this game it s just a bait.
For example transforming Stardust Source into Acid all those kind of craft... it just trash in reality cause you cure one problem while creating a new problem.
So yeah you will have Acid but no Stardust Source.
For animals it s more or less the same actually except if there s some secret feature tide to them with super OP meat to gather or something... but it doesnt seem there s something like that.
We already have a large list of problems that need fixing.
And the idea of taming an animal, only for it to fall through the textures or die for some random reasons, is just sad. It's Deviant catching made worse...
It is not only too slow, in right way it can be okay. Animal taming is full micro management. Food is spoiling always, no autofeeding even if you have enough resouces, you need to come each day and control food (water you can put a lot and forget).
For now animals are really useles part of the game. We need to have fully automated process.
Also bugs with two agressive animals, they should breed, but they just kill each other (male kills female usually). and this stupid agression after taming, they are jumping on you all the time
1, the taming says they can have "mating mode", but they don't mate at all, and my crocs are usually too hungry starving after a day goes by, and I can't get their "benefits" from mating mode in the first place.
2, crocs eat an insane amount of food, and considering there's no incubator for eggs, no recipe for eggs (such as omelette or even as basic as a fried/hardboiled egg) that are easy to get, the croc eggs are useless compared to the usually 6 you can find lying around since they spoil so fast anyways.
3, my crocs seem to think some things are solid and some aren't, for example they won't walk through a wall or a fridge, but a fish tank is not solid at all.
4, my crocs do eat FISH, but they don't do anything. I can leave 100 shellfish in a bin, and they gain NO hunger despite eating them all.
5, what's the use of slaughtering? if you raise an animal to the point where it's tame and it gives you food or whatever else you may need... what's the point in slaughtering if you can't have animals mate or grow old? I get that you'd need slaughtering to make room for more animals or different kinds but... it just seems dumb when they can die to the stupidest things it seems.
