I don't think building a base can get any simpler. Do you have a specific question? You pretty much just press B and build away.

Most buildable will need the Foundation to be placed first. Anything on the Foundation will be considered indoor (even if no roof/wall is placed). So, you'll have to build the Foundation first before building anything on them.

There are exceptions and those will require you to build them on the ground and not the Foundation. Some can even build on the ground or the Foundation. So, if you cannot place them on the ground try to place them on Foundation, and vice versa.

Also, you can use the ALT+mouse wheel to increase/decrease the height of the Foundation. But most of the Foundation should be on the ground. In an uneven terrain, you might want to either build the Foundation on high ground or just build a two-story Foundation and use the ladder to connect them.

To be fair its really easy to make simple base as everyone here says so cant really understand whats so hard unless you trying make something
more complicated like
