Ignore ppl that talk about spyware and malware since those see spyware and malware in everything..sorry if someone is so much in fear of something collecting data about you than dont own PC and cellphone and never connect to internet.
as for the bugs im afraid yes the game is buggy at few points.
People here can answer questions that videos do not cover, if not for this discussion I would not have known netease had anything to do with this game.
-netease do not code anything anywhere. They have the money and that's all.
-they control stuff, they do not create stuff or extremely rarely.
-they lend server to use any product they have anywhere they want.
-each product have a specific contract.
-each product need to add this or that when netease want it.
-99 against 1 than all the overpriced products, pack, skin , bullsh*t are netease specifics
-if netease stop ""publishing"" this game will have no infrastructure on line, no promotion, no web event, no marketing.
---->>>> devs do not own their game anymore until the contract end <<<<----
-each contract is between 1 to 5 years to exploit by the distributor / publisher
- netease do not own anything, they rent everything
A to B depending of the duration of the contract (games, platform, servers ...)
- if the devs are smart they own some stuff : ndd, official website, networks ... BUT if not they are f*ck*d if netease stop the rent.
- netease has his metal gloves on the devs like balls on a silver plate and it is a seriously hard exercise negotiating with a publisher who do not give a sh*t about players but only about milk money.
- netease have already plan for a lot and a lot of milk money event or battle pass or anything who won money from cow players.
- devs have already plan for a lot of event and freemium to keep player base inside the game
i obviously forgot a lot of things here but you have the big pictures.
in 99% of the case, games administrated by ""publisher"" who do not give a sh*t about player what is : 90% of any mmo in history, the game died in 3 to 5 years.
Warcraft, Guid Wars, BDO, are some rare exceptions and everyone want the same success. Warcraft is not a rent. Guild Wars 1 was not a rent. Guild wars 2 is (i think).
And for a perfect example : TERA in Europe was administrated by 3 publishers in a row, and it was good to awful disaster for the player base since year 1.
Shareholders do not give a sh*t about : you, me, everybody except themselves.
They do not even play or even known the product. They do not care if it is a game or a kleenex. What they want is Profits for investing on this stock option : netease.
I know some shareholder who posses some stocks of ubi soft who do not even know what ubi soft do. This is not their problems, they have caviar to buy, because 50 to 75% of the companies who sale stock options do not even know who buy them.
This is an open market for money and profits not a place for creators and gamers.
Welcome to the video game industry in 2025. Now you understand why some of your game are very big cash grab and vanish as fast they appear.
