I'm in no way defending gacha lootboxes, btw. Simply saying... I can't believe anyone would gamble their way to the prizes when there's a way to buy them without doing that. Are the items still overpriced? Yeah, I'd grant you that, for sure.
I wouldn't necessarily mind them having expensive stuff as long as there was also a LOT of good affordable stuff to buy too, priced at some threshold most people feel good about. Like even having a lot more basic outfit pieces and vehicle paintjobs (colorable too) for cheap prices would be appreciated by a lot of people, and make them more money.
