Windows 11 24H2 update issues
Ever since updating W11 to 24H2 the game is unplayable. Sound cuts out in the menu, loading screens, and in game. Severe FPS drops, even completely freezing for a minute or two, can't even open the menu. The issue goes away when I revert back to an older Windows version, but then I can't play other games because Windows isn't up to date. Is anyone else having similar issues or have a fix?

You only JUST now updated to 24H2? I don't get it. What were you using before? Did you install the updates to the .... update? Yes, early 24H2 was awful.
FPS drops is quite common in this game, especially when it came into Lunar Mode or when Prime War is nearby. I don't know if this issues came from the game or from the GPU, but some fellas back then said it was the game that wasn't optimized (they had better build than mine). If it was caused by Windows Update, I don't think it is... since I reverted back my version and yup, it was still choppy when those events happened.

About the missing sound, like ambiance or background music that were missing recently. I had no issues with it, but if you asked about the character's dialogues, yep... some of the dialogue didn't have audio files in it, the game confirmed it. Maybe you can try to repair your game using that Steam feature? the... Verify Game Files Integrity, or maybe if the issues still not fixed, try to contact the developer or joining the discord community for Once Human? Maybe they could help...
Make sure windows finished updating stuff. After it finishes, make sure to check your video card drivers (on old 3050 RTX had to revert to a prior release to stop blue screens). Last step, go to the game's graphics settings and tell it to reset so it re-detects your card/driver
Your first issues was using windows 24H2.

I updated it when it first prompted me to, and I realized that it messed with my gaming experience so I un-installed it. Windows kept promoting me to update and I was getting annoyed, so I did it again with the same issue. I also don't know that much about computer software which is why I'm asking for help.

I wasn't having any issues running the game prior to the update. I have also checked the other drivers and they're all up to date. I have installed/uninstalled a few times now to see if the update was the issue, and it is. The game updates made no difference. I used steam to verify files and it didn't help anything. I'm part of the discord community, so I'll probably end up reaching out to them as well. I'll likely just end up reverting back to the previous version of windows again if the issue can't be fixed.
Try increasing the page file, I think the game has a memory bug at times. Increase it according to your RAM. 3 times the amount of RAM, but not more or 1,5 times the RAM. For me there are other issues, like everything is fine, the zone seems to be normal, but out of nowhere the health goes 0 and pollution meter to max. And no, it was not lunacy, kind of strange. I will wait for some updates I guess, pretty much weird issues.

Just revert and Pause Updates. Then, it should stop bugging you to update. I'm running 24H2 but, luckily, I've seen no drawbacks. I put off installing 24H2 until just about a month ago because of people reporting issues with it. It sat in my update list on Pause for months while I waited for people to report that the updates for the 24H2 problems were fixing things for most people. Sorry you're having issues with it, though.
Between 24H2 and the Nvidia driver issues, it's not been a fun 6 months or so for PC gamers. Nvidia and Microsoft really need to step up their game. I'm already looking at switching to AMD or Intel for my next GPU and I will abandon Windows for Linux if they don't get their act together.
i will fix your problem. open windows update --> advanced options --> recovery and there is "fix problems using windows update" and click "reinstall now". it might take several hours, the package is big and install will take some time too. but there is a good chance you will be fine after. the problem is Windows .NET Framework. you need to upgrade it to 4.8.1 and that version is only available in that repair package.

Don't touch the page file. It's 2025 not 2020.
