seriously though idunno what the issue is. I'm only on a RTX 2080 so I don't have that option.
Also using frame gen does lead to input lag, I know this because I've tried FSR in the game and the increase in frame rates did not increase my damage but the input lag was very noticeable. I've had similar issues in other games (both Cyberpunk and Stalker 2) being 2 games in particular where using FSR caused input lag.
TLDR: the input lag from FSR is not worth the extra fps. Low input lag, a good mouse setup and muscle memory will serve you well.
unhelpful and L take, "fake frames" or not it makes the game smoother and input lag at this point is a nonissue. It doesn't add any or barely at all
"barely at all" LOL this is entirely dependent on the framerate you're starting with, at 60fps your frametime is 16.67ms, FG adds around 15ms to that, nearly double -- let's say you're using FG to hit 120fps, so now your "fake" frametime SHOULD be 8.33ms however you're sitting there with around 30ms instead on top of whatever your input device's polling rate and your screen's response time is. That IS very noticable, especially on m/kb.

Your explanation is excellent, as is the math: 2+2=4. I'm sure many will understand that framerate marketing is a hoax, as false as the fabricated (fake) FPS itself.
Testing has shown me that visually it does look "smoother," but the input lag this generates, as you already explained, isn't worth it (at least for games of this type).
What's the point of the game looking smoother if it currently has an additional delay of more than 30ms, and that's without adding all the other delays we haven't mentioned, such as your own controller or mouse, keyboard, monitor, CPU, GPU, etc.
