"Folding" of trade messages

Why is this a thing? we already have the worst trade system i have ever seen in a game and now anytime someone wants to sell or ask if someone is selling something it get marked as spam and "folded"?
Is this just to make us need alts? What could possibly be the reason to do this and not just make a trade channel?

It's buggy as well. Even with this "folding" feature turned off, a lot of the time it will not even fold messages, it will just completely delete them which is quite concerning.

Supposedly the folding is to unclog chat..though it just clogs chat with "this message has been folded".

it is a bad idea that i don't believe anyone asked for. i find it hard to believe that people were complaining about the ability to ask in chat for something someone is selling and where to get it. Like OP said what not just make a trade channel?

Not a sensible change by the dev team, I've no idea why they could not just add a 'trade' tab to the chat.

You can turn it off in the chat settings, the settings wheel in the chat box that is.
