I had a friend who experienced this problem for a few days, starting randomly after the most recent patch.
The potential solution depends on when the crash occurs. If it happens when launching the game or immediately after entering, it's likely due to corrupt files—try performing a file repair. Do this in the steam properties by right clicking on the game within your library.
If the crash occurs after some time, it could be related to memory. Switching to DirectX11 may resolve the issue for those without faulty memory sticks, as DirectX12 currently has a memory leak and is the default setting for NVIDIA cards.
In my friend's case, removing one of the faulty memory sticks resolved the issue.
Remember, each crash-to-desktop (CTD) can corrupt files, so you'll need to repair them regularly throughout the troubleshooting process.
And I have no clue to why this might happen, but it's taking its toll on my patience. Doesn't help that the new server is a laggy overpopulated mess and seems to be run on a potato.
The same happend to me after the server switch for the new season. Never had any problems before.
Any Solutions?
None.
I've tried:
- Checking integrity of files, both in Steam and in-game.
- Running the game in DX11 mode.
- Updating various drivers.
- Lowering GFX settings.
I do feel that setting the VFX in Graphics options from Very High to Very Low helped a little, meaning it happens less often, but it might just be a placebo effect.
Most time game is now closing right after loading World and character.
Now after porting somewhere i have a black screen, but the game doesnt close. Only thing to do then is acces the menu by pressing esc and exit the game...
