New scenario: problem with choosing a new scenario
Hi!

I played Manibus easy, which has now reached phase 6. I would like to play the way of winter but I can't sign in right now, must wait some more, officially until 17th October but you know what this means, it is actually open-end.
So I signed in for another Manibus difficult and I don't know if I start in the Manibus difficult then I can change to way of winter when it starts, probably by the 17th October.
So I signed in the new Manibus difficult but didn't enter the season yet.
Now I got a message that if I don't enter soon, my place will be given to someone else.

So what do I have really? Can I enter the new Manibus season now and enter way of winter at the start of the season and am I blocked in Manibus for the whole season?
What can I expect in the new Manibus season? Is the story the same or does it evolve? Is the map the same, the same silos, the same Manibus fights, only more difficult?

They will add new servers all the time, so if you aren't trying to go to a specific server with friends/hive your 'slot' doesn't mean much.

They are implementing a mid-season transfer ON the 17th, so in theory you could move the day the Winter scenario opens, but even if it is a flawless roll-out (unlikely), no one knows what the rules are. Many assume 'mid-season' means anytime, anywhere. For myself, I suspect there will be more strictures. For example, mid-season but not BEFORE Phase 3 or limited transfer of materials. Any number of possibilities.

If you really want the Way of Winter, I'd hold fast to where you are. Find another game for a couple weeks or grind some mods or something. If you don't mind roiling the dice with their new transfer feature, head into the new scenario. Worst case, you'll be able to pick a Way of Winter server a few weeks after the first opens.

Yes Manibus (Hard) is the exact same scenario (with questionable increased difficulty). If you join you will be locked into that server until Phase 6 OR when the devs release the ability to switch servers "mid season" which we currently don't have any details for other than it's coming in a future update.

You can either wait in Phase 6 of your current server until October 17th or take the risk of hopping to Manibus (Hard/Normal). I'd be shocked if the devs don't implement the mid season server hop function on or before the Way Of Winter scenario update, but then judging by their track record of managing this game, it's not beyond the realm of possibility!

Honestly, I don't know why everyone is so worried about not being in Way of Winter server on Oct 17.

The progress is all server-based. Every single server has its own progress and they all open at different times.

Just like every single tech thing, there will be bugs and whatnot, and the first users are gonna be experiencing the most of it. So, you are better off just hanging back a few days than rushing to be the first batch unless you are Youtuber and need the content.

In any case, there is 10 (or 14 if they have implemented) days of opening for every server. After that no new sign ups are allowed for that server. So, that's why you will lose your slot. However, you can just register for another server.

Manibus is the scenario and if you register for a server that is running the Manibus scenario, you will play the same thing. You can spice things up by playing on a Hard server since there will be slightly more aggressive enemies and more starchrom.

Alternatively, you can play one of the PVP scenarios with Prismverse's Clash lasting only 19 days.

They mentioned they are working on mid-season transfer feature but until it is out, it is probably better to assume you won't have it.

You can also just stay on your current server for 4 weeks after phase 6 starts but honestly, unless you haven't played much during the first 5 phases, there shouldn't be much left to do in your current server.

Less worried about Way of Winter and more bored with Manibus, KeNnEtH. At least for me. Worried a bit perhaps in that if it isn't a big 'WoW factor' factor for me, it's probably my last run in OH for a while. I generally like to get months or years out of games but of late, feeling a bit less sanguine towards OH.

Thank you for all your kind answers!
I never play PVP and I don't know the rules. Are other players able to destroy my bases on a pvp server? would I be able to move one step out of my base without losing my life?

PVE players like myself who love this game are EXTREMELY thirsty for new content. I tend to find a game I enjoy and play only that game until I get bored with it and move on to the next one or have a break from gaming and switch to another activity to escape from the madness in the world for a while. While this game is still holding my interest (barely of late) I'm eager to see what a new PVE scenario will look like. While repeating the same scenario once managed to keep me playing (admittedly nowhere near as much as when it was a new experience) the prospect of doing it again is out of the question.

Like Yhtill I'm concerned that the Way of Winter won't be enough to keep me playing. I've set my expectations fairly low but I'll be pretty disappointed if I have to find another game or take a break from gaming. I haven't found a game as enjoyable to me since the early days of the Division 1 so to find one that suits my taste is obviously quite rare. This is why I want to make sure I get into the new scenario on day 1.
