SEA server "upgrades" almost doubled my latency

I'm in New Zealand. Before the patch, the best region for me to play in was SouthEast Asia. That gave me 120 ping which is... not great, but liveable. Now with the 1.2 patch they claim they "upgraded" the servers. What they did is not specified but I expect they moved it to a different datacenter. A number of people in-game reported improvements to their ping (IE 70 to 40) but for me it went from 120 to 210-220. The game plays awfully like this. The worst thing seems to be that jumping is clientside but grabbing to climb is serverside, leading to 3 or 4 attempts being needed to just grab something to climb it. Loot boxes also take even longer to open, and grabbing open world floor salvage is laggier too.

I was curious if any region are better now than they were at launch, but going into the server list from the main menu, EVERY REGION SHOWS ALL GREEN! Useless.

Go and try the JPN servers - they are at 140. Which is weird, because when I checked them at games launch they were 250-300+ Its almost as if JPN and SEA swapped places.

But yeah, we here in NZ, and I see lots of Aussies complaining too, have been screwed. We can;t leave the server without losing all our account stuff, and any money we spent. Their genius decision to tie everything to the regional server is a clusterf**k.

Even thought regional servers mean nothing as evidenced by Eternaland - which is global and ignores regions.

I'm in Canberra and my ping on the Japan server went from 125 to 265.

Using a VPN now and got it to under 200 with a Taiwan VPN

NZ here and same ping as before here on SEA-X0003 (Singapore). You guys went from the Singapore server to the Japan server and are surprised that your ping went up? Japan to Singapore is an additional 9000 km guaranteed. This will equate in terms of fibre speed an additional 120-140 ping.

No I am playing with friends in the US so we used the Japan server to split the ping. It was 125 and is now 265.

This is not anything us players have caused or changed. NetEase moved the server or changed the routing. Telling us to get a better internet connection is at best ignorant but more likely standard steam-grade trolling.

They moved the server, yes. They can't change the routing, that's on a lot more than just the server. It depends on which ISP you are using as well as what ISP their server is using. Perhaps with the people who have experienced doubled latency can start listing what ISP they are using.

Finally got a reply to my support ticket. Not particularly encouraging but at least they've admitted there's an issue.

Well mine got worse from yesterday to today. 265 p[ing went to 302 and the VPN to Philippines no longer reduces my ping so 302 is as good as it gets. And yes I have tried everywhere in SEA and Asia

I get like 40-60 latency on US server, but its feels much worse, like the worse in any game I’ve ever played.

They could add 1 or 2 servers for us, 1 for pvp and pve. from 120 to 240 now. No more supporting till its fixed, they have deadline untill the new cosmetic car Expires.

guys do use vpn or any app thay lessen the ping to NZ or Au player?
