How is this game making money?

So, I'm confused... is there like some kind of store I'm not seeing? For me it looks like this game is 100% free to play with no micro transactions visible?

There is a shop that sells cosmetics (press F2) They sell premium currency called Crystgin which can then be exchanged for cosmetic skins for character and building. They also sell Lootcrates which are RNG gacha boxes. You can also buy Battlepasses for cosmetics and some in game items as you unlock the levels through XP gain.

Cosmetics and Season pass tracks.

Think this way. Lowly season track is 10 bucks. If 30k players purchase it the company makes 300k.

I bought a season pass, I was not going to at first thinking I would never max it out due to the bugs that cause me to have momentary rage quits but I noticed randomly I stopped getting rewards from it and looked, it was maxed out so I bought the 10 dollar pass and instantly got all the rewards. It was much easier and faster to level then I expected, took like 4 days.

Yep I like the way it's easy to clear. Back in the day I have bought season track for Diablo 4 and Division 2 and didn't even get halfway to clearing either.

Fast forward to Diablo 4 now with the new season reset that matched their expansion launch a few days ago. My character just hit level 16 and my season progress bar only filled one reward box, wtf. Lucky I didn't spend money and just monitoring the freebie track but still. Progress is slow as fook to be level 16 and only have one reward box filled.

Whales that have nothing better to do with their money. I actively talked to one and begged him to stop buying lootboxes to stand with people on getting more fair rolls and pricing. He retaliated by doubling down and spending even more on loot boxes because he didnt like me telling him how to spend his money. Literally spending money out of spite. The man had four digits spare income and actively thought suppressing players with weaker wallets was a good idea.

I dont have a lot of faith if this is the kind of player they would rather have.

There are plenty of whales, getting 1 to stop wont do anything and to be honest if its what they want to spend their money on you really have no right to tell them to stop, their money means its purely their choice.

So you thought that by telling people, even 1 individual, how to spend their money because out of fairness to the gaming industry would result in a good reaction?
People are free to do what they chose not only with their money but also with their lives, if that is an issue for you then it's you that has a problem .

There's much more happening in the world that takes place despite you having or not faith in certain people.

heh. Gaming is a hobby bruh. Did you see how much those "whales" spend on pokemon cards? lol Star Wars lego sets. Guys who are into custom cars but never drive them? lol.

whales are good to sustain the game, but they should open their eyes if the game just throwing trash and dont bother to maintain and improve the quality.
only idiot wasting time and money to fix something "that could be broken but still giving profit whether they fix it or not".
they have a share of responsibility in pushing this game to hell.

If I was a print shop company for Pokemon cards what's to stop them from printing all the rare one's, pocketing them in house and selling them for 1000x profit to the whales on Ebay? Who polices print shops?
