It has no animation or sound when shooting

Build it, and power it. That's it nothing more also even the best one does low damage.

bonus: you can also put them on a switch meaning you can power down erything else and still have turrets up i currently have 15 turrets up wenever i purify

Put it on the ground of your base and attach it to the sun panel. And don't forget that all electricity things use some count of energy. It should be enough for it.
