Fishing is BROKEN!

Doesnt matter what bait you use, doesnt matter where you fish, doesnt matter if its during a fishing event or not, doesnt matter what time of day you fish, etc. The first bite happens in around 5 seconds and then NOTHING BITES AFTER.

The animations are way too long and frequent. Taking out the pole takes too long. Catching a fish takes too long. Applying bait takes too long. Bait doesnt really seem to have any effect whatsoever. Groundbait is broken.

No wonder nobody does this stupid, waste of time activity.

If I don't get a bite within 30 seconds I assume something bugged out and I recast the line. I usually get a bite within 30 seconds after that. If it happens again I just rinse and repeat.

My observation has been different bait yields different fish. Not completely different, just more likely to get a particular set of fish out of whatever makes up the table of available fish in that area.

I'm fine with the animations. They're one of the things I find appealing about the game and I would like it less if everything became instant. Like opening the trunks of abandoned cars.. it could be instant but it has an animation associated with it. I like that, even though it could be much quicker if it didn't. Some small immersion-creating details are worth it, in my opinion.

Fishing is actually incredibly diverse and there are several areas where rare fish can be caught and others cannot. Arrowana and Barracuda both will only go after meat bait. Barracuda shows up more int he north while Pike is in the south. Frog the Leaper bait is a basic bait but it wont help you catch more difficult fish.

Sorry you havnt been having a good time of it, more people have been fishing this month than last month on my server. More people fishing than in any other game I have played. People normally HATE fishing.

You didn't play "Black Desert Online", where even in the newbie area there is (was when I played) a swarm of players fishing.

OP, you left out ....
*) Pocketing a caught Fish takes wwwaaayyy too long. You can press the F key a dozen times and it still won't pocket the fish until the animation comes to a complete stop.

Can catch all fish with the bait from the frog deviant, kinda makes the whole bait system redundant. It's the only bait i use, and i regularly catch barracuda, purple fish etc provided I'm in the correct location.

I would like the ending animation to be shortcut via the F key, spamming F after catching a fish until it gets put away is annoying.

There's also the bug where you get "cannot fish here" or "insufficient bait" if you just click to cast instead of holding the button till it turns green.
