Which chest piece better for frost build DPS

Frost tactical vest or Doyen cloak frag? which one better?

I have both and in my experience using them I think they are pretty well balanced against each other. The ice spikes from frost vest gives a bit more damage but the vortex on the cloak is very useful against groups of enemies. But you could use the Frost vest along with vortex grenades or get an ice spike mod and use the cloak.
Unless someone can provide some definitive damage numbers against enemies (not target dummies!) then I would say it's more down to your play style and the chest pieces don't weigh alot so you can easily keep both in your inventory.

I have the same question, due to the starchrom price of doyens it's a price i don't want to afford just to discoverd that my overall dps it's between the frost vest, that it's free. So, without any onfield data, i must say, frost vest deal instant 100% psi damage each time you activate frost vortex. On the other hand, Doyen's deals 50% of the damage done to the target when the frost vortex ends. Here's the tricky part. Wich damage it's calculating doyens pasive? If it's all damage deal by any means, thats broken, making it a kind of smite to the enemy, perfect for deal masive damage. If that's no the case, and its only considering frost vortex damage, the vest may not be worth the price. I say MAY NOT because i haven't tested it. Finally i think this decision it's based on your content focus. If you're doin Silos or Lea Research, maybe vest it's the best for handling mob pools because of the instant AoE dmg. If you're doing Monolith bosses maybe Doyen's final damage it's key to accumulate high end dps. Hope a kind soul enlight us on this matter

i believe its the frost damage done for the 50%
