I can understand LEA but hard mode silos... That should be done in 10 min max. Shouldn't break your gears.
yea is terrible and boring , the cost of repair is to much expensive for nothing
I was wondering if I was going to have issues with it because I'm somewhat of an old man and just not that good at shooters anymore. I'm about a week into phase 4 (it's longer than that fyi) and while I'm having to frequently repair for the first time in the game, I'm not finding the cost of repairs to be very burdensome. Between events, silos, salvage, and everything else I'm doing in the game I'm still coming out ahead on supplies, despite having to repair my stuff every 2 or 3 dungeons. There's just so much special plastic and bulletproof fabric coming from all the boxes I'm opening. Everything I do seems to reward both, and the tungsten I get from dismantling weapons is covering my weapon repairs and tungsten ammo costs.
It's an emergency stop. If someone is really struggling to the point that they can't make it through dungeons without going back for repairs, they can use those tools for instant-repairs. This allows people who suck at shooting but are great at resource management to engage in end game content, but it is very inefficient due to the cost of the repair tools.
edit: Also, to anyone looking for more ways to survive in the pro-mode and on content, I highly recommend looking into the Stardust Regulator. It's a perk-dependent gadget that gives you a way to instantly heal without triggering your activator cooldown, and it also gives you an overshield that provides temporary invulnerability. If you can't get the perk you can buy the gadgets from someone on your server, but expect to pay 100k at minimum due to the extreme rarity of the primary ingredient used to craft the gadget.
It took me several hours (also, several days) just to get enough platinum crystal to make all the gears. Although, I haven't repaired my equipment yet. But I think I'll need a lot of resources just to keep it top-up all the time.
Resources are there to be used and with the master hand you can repair your equipment anywhere. How quickly your equipment breaks depends on how often you are hit.
Also how often you go down or black out. There's an additional hit your gear takes when you go down.
Gear break down fast being annoying when you are in silo or dungeon like LEA.
Gear repair cost too much.
For the second issue, no it's not. It's very easy to farm mats. One clear of Blackfell opening up all chests should last you days of repair. Platinum crystals aren't even rare, Blackfell is littered with Weapon and Gear Crate. This is even truer in hard mode server I noticed dramatic drop rate increases compared to novice server. I got so many legendary mods and weapon/armour drops from these crates.
As for OP I agree gear degrades too fast. I personally wish it didn't degrade at all because it adds zero enjoyment to the game (same as thirst/hunger mechanics) but I would settle for it being a little less of a nuisance. It's hard to believe anyone actually likes these things.
