Water pump does not work

Has anyone else had their water pumps do nothing? I have a filter filled with impure acid connected to a water pump. The water pump then connects to a water tank. The liquid is not moving. I've tried various variations of uphill and downhill and the water pump does not send liquid to the water tank. I've tried moving everything around, connecting and reconnecting pipes, and it just does not work.

so you got the water pump connected to the filter?

Is the filter higher then the water tank? if so that might be why. i always have to have them higher then the tank itself.

Tell us the positioning of the 3 things. Each of them need to be in certain different heights heights.

nope.
it has to be moved by hand

You can, just not to barrels for some reason.
