Nobody can harm you on a PVE server and nobody can destroy your base.
So what's so disturbing? That you see another player every now and then?
Yikes, just don't go to the door in real life! You might meet other people there!
If that were the case, then the question is fundamentally wrong.
Then it should be "can I have a server just for me and my friends".
However, I have to admit that me and 3 other friends were just so smart and arranged to meet on the day the server opened, even if it was just to set up a temporary mini camp (time required 15 minutes). Good organization is everything.
Ah you seem a bit triggered.. He didn't say there was anything wrong with ' public servers '.. an what happens there has noting to DO with his question. Some people want to play casually.. I will assume he means a sever where you will have control over the seasons.. So when you want to.. you an a couple of buddies can fire up the game an enjoy the experience together.. When you have a group of friends, its hard to sync everything up on a craptastic public server, that has a LIMITED time span of activity..
This game is sinking fast, anything to pull in new MONEY would be a good idea.. Let people pay for their own servers.. Do the fallout76 bait an switch where you cant transfer to a public server.. The developers make money, the player is happy.. an the pubs cant cry about them switching over.. an breaking ' balance '..
I play on a populated server and I've been soloing and only rarely come across other players. For all intents and purposes it feels like a private server most of the time.
I am constantly tripping over people in very new low servers.
Changed servers completely twice so far, still the same thing, way too many people in my face.
They have mentioned that it will be discussed and can possibly happen. When or if they will, dunno. But it was discussed with the devs.
I got lucky and got 2 servers that were community driven
I would not count on it happening, personally.
A private server would be perfect so that my friends and I can enjoy what we do without starting over with a reset.
