So what makes an RPG?
Is it story, character interaction and "role playing" a character in the game world? Or is it the stats, equipment and combat systems?
Personally I consider Once Human a Third Person shooter with RPG and survival elements. It's a hybrid. The gear and keyword system would be at home in an RPG, but the survival side of the game really wouldn't be.
My advice is not waste time arguing over things that are completely subjective like game genre. Worry less about that and more about IF the game is fun.
And another opinion is that if the game WASN'T RPG, all guns would have only single damage stat and it wouldn't change under any circumstances or any boosts. I know PUBG can't be an example, because its a battle royale and its much different than this, but that at least tells you how much damage you've dealt, but its not as big as you can make here, in this game. I saw a streamer doing like 19K damage, which is unrealistic with ordinary weaponary.
But your response eplains everything and it wouldn't be an arguement if we both knew how these damage mechanics were implemented. Thank you man!
