Stealth?
Is there any reason to use it? I am fairly new, but I don't really see a reason to use stealth so far :/

Edit: For PvE purposes I mean

NEED to use it? no, but I was able to push much further beyond what I would have been able to run and gun by taking my time and crossbow them. it also helped me get a better layout of the strongholds since I wasn't feeling rushed. I was even doing silos way higher level than what I should have been able too. hunting/bolt action snipper for really long shots, crossbow if I couldnt get to a longer "unheard" spot.

it would be nice if stealth was a bit stronger and more options. but it works.

hard modes might be more important as the range they will aggro to sound or sight has been adjusted to be more aggressive. I see a future with a lot more builds adding on suppressors rather than the large breaks.

sadly late game this is not an option as the crossbows/snipers just dont do enough damage to one tap until you are super geared out for it.

That's the thing.. I like stealth, and I would like to use it, but it's like there is no reason to so far.. The enemies die super easy, there are no stealth advantages :/

like what nytar said but make sure if you wanna stealth that you turn off the light as enemies will detect you going in close for a backstab kill

"Stealth" if you can even call it that is actually quite useful in Solo LEA

this is just untrue any bingo user knows and the predator whim says you get more weakspot dmg when in the stealth pred mode

First I need to understand this "stealth" in the game, as i dont quite see any features involving stealth in it other than killing them from a certain distance.
Most NPC have a full absurd radius detection around them, when youre inside it, they will act differently depending on which state and they dont seem to detect any kind of sound
The "did you hear that?" is just a illusion to make you think they are indeed hearing something and going into the source, but theyre not, its only a state response of you being close while they cant reach you directly (because theres a wall/obstacle blocking)
So even if youre crouched and walking like a snail, as soon as you enter the radius they will still "hear" you from inside a building or through walls and know exactly where you were, going to the place and looping their behavior endlessly if youre not there.
Im not gonna full detail all the possible incomes and behaviors of the NPC detection system, but rather say that i dont feel any real stealth in the game at all, since backstabbing is one of the hardests things to do in the game because of this insane radius detection (unless if the zombie is on its knees, as it will take time to stand up)
If you mean stealth by killing NPCs from afar, then sure, its possible, but you cant do something real stealthy in this game, like walking on their base unoticed by their backs and killing some without being detected by other npcs nearby that didnt witness the murder, this is impossible and very clunky to even try.

If theres a stealth feature in this game other than this, please prove me wrong here, both players and devs/mods

PvE Players know nothing of this I think. I didn't and now I'm going to do a season on PvP for it because it looks cool and the benefits :money5:

There's not much of a need to, but if you do stealth executions on enemies you not only save on ammunition, but you also don't alert other enemies unless you're directly in their line of sight, and your melee weapon won't use as much durability then if you hit them.
Also it's always a kill, no matter what. Even if you have no weapon equipped, a stealth execute will always instantly kill humanoid enemies.

To do stealth, crouch . You won't make as much noise, and have a lower profile so that enemies will have a harder time spotting you from further away as well as may not even be able to spot you if you have cover. You can also technically stealth by running around and finishing off enemies quickly, but that isn't as guaranteed.
