I'll spend a lot of money if I know what I am getting. I won't gamble, and now I feel left out. It's terrible.
I would spend more on skins at a set price, especially if there were more styles on offer and they were priced fairly
Gatcha business models, asking at the end for thousands of bucks for just a single skin, is what you will always see in any game coming from those countries. There is nothing we can do about that. They always aim to make billions with just one dev working a couple of days on a skin or a character. Greedy and lazy, because selling them for just 20bucks will still keep incomings high enough to continue working on the game, even if F2P.
They are greedy, and we are just cows to milk for them. They have no limit on that, no common sense at all. But mainly, they know that beyond some very rich whale here and there, there are also tons of players with ludopathy issues who don't have tons of money but keep throwing them on loot boxes like in casinò slot machine, These are the people they actually aim to milk.
The only way to make these greedy companies to stop with these scammy practices, which can cause ludopathy issues even on persons who never had them before because they don't like casiinò stuff but like videogames (and this is the worst part becasue basically KR/CH created another form of ludopathy), are governments introducing laws against it.
And I hope soon or later something will happen to stop this plague. Unfortunately politicians are so old that neither know what a video game is. They still think that people playing GTA become serial killers in real life.. so we are not in a good sport at the moment. Prolly next generation.
But the cosmetics are horrible too.
I wouldnt use them if they gifted them for free, especially this new one.
Myself and my partner both bought the Battle Pass and many cosmetics on the shop (territory ones we share which was nice of Starry to allow us to do) because WE CAN SEE WHAT WE ARE GETTING. I don't understand the need for these lootboxes. It's so shady and unnecessary.
Legal intervention and people refusing to pay (which will never happen). I really hate that we have to make laws to force people to be good to each other FFS. Starry you had such an opportunity to be the good guys. You still do, it's not too late.
I had no issues dropping cash on the greenhouse cosmetic, and a few gun/clothing ones.
In no way will i drop a ton of cash on a 'maybe'
That feels stupid and insulting.
We were off to a good start.. why do game company's always pull this crap, the idea is old, outdated and whomever is still pushing it on a corporate level should be drawn and quartered in the town square so everyone understands just how insulting the idea is for the end consumer and just how out of touch these marketing teams are..
Again.. give a set price for the shiny things.. any most will at least consider it.
Lock it behind a RNG based 'game of chance' and your only ripping yourself off.
... Okay .... . . . ... but then wouldn't they have to also banned Counter Strike which is their flagship property right now?
Furthermore so far their servers are not within a special country area it is even illegal in my country. I cannot read an online casino license within their legal notice. The game could be banned.
The price model of gacha boxes is pretty much too high for only skins.
They must provide an online casino license and they should lower the price drastically asap.
Alternative they should remove that feature asap.
only skins is what it has to be because the game is advertised as not P2W. Casino for P2W would be worse.
prices are high I will agree... but look at the economy right now... everything is stupidly high priced.
the "loot boxes" are PURELY COSMETIC. there is no pay to win. there is no "loot" in them, just different looking pixels. they start giving out actual working camo or invisibility then complain about the PvP aspect. till then... this is silly. so the "loot boxes" are actually "Vanity Boxes" and almost all of it is in the purchase shop.
the loot box pay to win thing is what people USED to be upset about. but you are literally upset over pay to look pretty?
if you dont like chance boxes for cosmetics... just dont play them...
