8 gb internal patch
Why not patch via steam? Now I'm stuck with an open app, downloading a huge patch, I could be playing another game whilst waiting for the download, now I'm forced to wait.

Massive Red Flag.

Yep, I agree. I have no idea why they chose to deliver this patch this way. I only get 3mbps. So yeah, thanks for that..

Yeah weird they'd do it like that when the game doesn't even have it's own separate launcher off of Steam.
The game is quite light during the update phase though, on my old i7-8700k it's only using 15% of the CPU and 1GB RAM while updating, so you should still be able to do other things while it's running without too much issue.

I often play Civ 6 whilst downloading patches for other games. The problem is it dedicates a monitor and gpu resources to have 2 full games running, rather than 1 patching and 1 running. The reason they patch internally, is so they don't have to pay fees to id software for patching via steam..

Yeah you can have multiple games running at once, Steam only takes issue with patching and playing at the same time by default but that's a setting you can change.
Like I said Once Human only uses minimal resources while it's in the patching phase at startup (0% on the GPU) so you should be ok to alt-tab out of it, although obviously if it's another resource-intensive game you'll take a performance hit.

The merging patches is taking so long for me (I do have another game running in the background, not sure how much it's affecting Once Human)
